VTV 12,926
Ew. This means they need more payola to stay chart relevant. Cant wait to see BB's decline as an "industry standard"
melon 3,618
hmm not too bad I guess, but they definitely should introduce a new rule to counteract album variants - sales only count from the 2 highest selling versions? show me to me please
Louvre 4,048
Thank god. It was about time. This is going to change things for Christmas songs. That will be interesting. Thank you billboard. Happy DWAS got to 60 weeks. Its a shame that songs will kicked out of the top 50 after 26 weeks, dont love that

This update was much needed. In the last 5 years songs have been spending 50+ weeks on the hot 100 way more often than ever before in the chart's history. there are way too many songs that have been on the chart for so many weeks on the hot 100 rn

Taylor will still easily reach #1 because she can earn 500k+ from streaming alone. "You b*tch!" ~ Rat Boy

StrawberryBlond 14,955
Totally pointless rule that means what ends up on the charts isn't actually what's popular but what the chart filters according to relevancy. If a song sticks around, it's because people like it, hence, it should remain on the chart. It's high time they put out rules that targeted multiple variants bought by one customer and every track on an album charting. Taylor and her 10+ variants bought over and over by crazed fans and 24-track hip hop albums clogging up the charts knocking down songs which have been slowly building are 2 massive issues which should've been dealt with years ago. Ed released one album in the UK that caused him to dominate the entire UK top 30 and after that, only the 3 most popular songs from an album could chart (including singles). One instance and we changed the rules. How many times of cheating the system will it take for the US to catch up?

andy232000 12,270
Billboard admits in their article about these changes that it was done to “alíviate congestion” caused by Lose Control, Die With A Smile and Beautiful Things. The fact they openly revealed they created this JUST to get rid of those songs shows how unprofessional and MEANINGLESS the hot 100 has become. It’s not even about the music anymore it’s about politics
