I've read they have a policy of targeting immigrants, both documented and undocumented and most of them tend to be people of color and with no criminal records, and those who do have a record only did slight violations such as an expired visa. Yeah, they’re a semi-militarized federal law enforcement division given broad surveillance powers and tend to be more racist than the average police officer (which is saying something). They’ve been amping up deportation operations in major American cities and actually just recently used military helicopters to descend on low income housing and dragged out and temporarily detained a shitton of innocent people who are here legally. There have also been recent incidents of ICE officers engaging in increasing levels of brutality towards protestors, to and including shooting a woman 7x in the chest after ramming her car with their vehicle. They’re out of control and are acting, essentially, as a paramilitary towards Trump’s end of deporting all undocumented people and intimidating non-white American citizens.
