Taylor obliterates the European charts with record-breaking 'The Life of a Showgirl'

Taylor just booked the biggest opening of her career all accross Europe, breaking several records in multiple countries with The Life of a Showgirl. And judging by the amazing longevity the album is exhibiting so far on streaming platforms, many of these countries might be a repeat at #1 for both the album and the single 

 

UK:

-Biggest album debut ever for an international artist with 423,444 units.

-Ophelia is #1 and she holds the entire Top 3.

-Broke the long-standing Divide record for biggest streaming debut for an album.

 

Germany:

-Biggest debut in 25 years for an international solo act on the German album chart.

-Ophelia is #1 and she has 8 songs in the Top 10 this week, a record. She also broke the streaming record for an album.

 

Netherlands:

-The album debuts at #1 outselling the next 63 albums on the chart combined.

-Ophelia goes #1 and she books 3 songs in the Top 10 (limit allowed by the chart)

 

Ireland:

-Showgirl becomes Taylor's 12th #1 album (most for any artist ever), and outsells the rest of the Top 30 combined

-She secures the Top 3 on the singles chart with Ophelia at #1

 

Sweden:

-Album is #1

-Ophelia is #1 and 8 songs from the album made it into the Top 10.

 

Norway:

-Album is #1

-Ophelia is #1 and 4 songs from the album made it into the Top 10.

 

France:

-Album goes #1 with 66,700 units sold, earning a Gold certification (50K) in just 3 days after release.

 

Austria:

-Album is #1

-Ophelia is #1 and she holds the entire Top 3 on the singles chart (limit of charting songs is 3)

 

Finland:

-Album is #1

-Ophelia charts at #5 and 11 songs make it to the singles chart. Golden and Taylor's 11 entries are the only foreign songs present in the chart.

 

Italy:

-Album is #1

-Ophelia charts at #6 and 11 songs from the album make it to the singles chart.

 

Lithuania:

-Album is #1

-Ophelia is #1 and she books 3 Top 10 entries from the album

 

Belgium:

-Album is #1 in both Flanders and Wallonia

-Ophelia is #1 in Flanders and #5 in Wallonia
