vanna shintuyu 11,160
I almost exclusively watch horror movies because it helps quell my anxiety. I have way too many favorites to name without it seeming like I'm just listing movies. lol Aside from the incredible classics already mentioned, I'd like to throw in Sleepaway Camp and Hello Mary Lou: Prom Night 2. The decisions that were put into creating those movie are truly baffling at times, so they're a lot of fun. Surprisingly good SFX makeup too. Great to watch with a group.   Also House of 1000 Corpses. Edited October 12 by vanna shintuyu

Alxjcgn 1,097
Too many to really list- I love the shining but don't watch it a lot because of how long it is, but I am in awe of how well done the movie is whenever I see it. Very cheesy, but the Fear Street series of movies on Netflix were actually really good! There are 4 of them My all time favorite though has to be the Poltergeist... first horror movie I ever watched and was definitely too young at the time haha, but I watch it every year and love it for the memory attached to it

Anderson123 39,551
My all time favorite is Scream and it’s the one that got me into the genre. I just love so many of them, from the classics to some of the recent new wave of horror.

Bling 31,546
Some amazing answers here!  The 70s and the 90s had the best horror imo, and the 80s has its own place This is incredibly difficult to choose because it's my favorite genre and I've been watching horror movies for probably 30 years... But I would say between The Shining and the original Halloween. Both have tons of replay value and at first, really scared me. The last thing I'll say is Hereditary is probably the last "modern" horror movie to actually scare me. 95% of horror now is garbage. elijahfan 26,680
I have too many…  but I would say my absolute favorites have to be Rosemary’s Baby, Alien, Silent Hill and Suspiria (the Guadagnino version). I literally have an occult symbol from Suspiria tattooed on my leg and watched it again for the 50th time last night with my current fling… (he’d better know what he’s getting himself into) Edited October 12 by elijahfan 3

My favorite horror movies were already retro but still very popular when I was a kid. Those movies starred Boris Karloff (Frankenstein), Bela Lugosi (Dracula), Lon Chaney, Jr. (The Wolf Man), and Peter Lorre. I live outside the space time continuum.
