Musically speaking, there is no better option to win this year. MAYHEM is a triumph and a pure celebration of so many musical genres. Her best work to date in my opinion.

Maybe not better, but definitely on par is FKA Twigs for me this year, but she doesn't strike me as a person who'd do the excessive promo work behind the scenes to get her name in the game

if that was true then no publication will ever get any prediction right then, why would that only apply to her?

Because it only changes the votes of a portion of the voters, so artist who have a lot of actual support don't get affected because they can afford to loose those votes, given Gaga's track record on general fields: she can't.

there's absolutely nothing that proves that, not even those anonymous voters opinions we get every year say anything similar (it's just based on who like more!)

if Mayhem loses it's because Kendrick is more revered and got the historic superbowl, not because of RS lol

There's no pure evidence but it's very logical.

The Grammy's voters come from different genre backgrounds and they tend to favour artists that fit in their preferred genre.

If you have 2 rappers nominated for AOTY, it's only obvious their votes will split between both artists (even if it's a 80/20 split, this can still contribute to a different album winning the award).

Then, of course, there's a portion of voters who are more open to vote for any album regardless of their genre.

It's also known that some voters will legit vote randomly without even listening to the nominated music, which is atrocious (hence the Grammy's introduced randomised lists this year).

All in all, we all know that winning this award is a mix of luck, popularity and which record is the most acclaimed.

P.S. Kendrick had the Superbowl but Gaga had a big moment too with Brazil's record and it was everywhere on the news and social media

I believe I have seen people say they vote for someone else because they think everyone else is voting for a specific candidate, I feel like it was related to Beyonce (?) but I honestly don't remember.

Anyways, whatever the reason might be, she's most likely not getting it as usual. The only path I could see for her is if they start pushing the Overdue narrative. I need articles after articles talking about how she hasn't won a General Field nomination despite having huge songs and albums nominated: an "always a bridesmaid, never the bride" type of story.

I would love for it to win. However, I think both Kendrick and Bad Bunny are helped by their very high profile Super Bowl performances. And Bad Bunny, in particular, will no doubt have a ton of press in the months of voting. I think the more he becomes and emblem of protest, the stronger his chances become. Gaga is a career artist at her peak and there's a strong case for that. But I do think Bad Bunny will eclipse the media conversation and probably win in the end.

I think her problem is mass appeal but even when she has something like Shallow or DWAS, she's up against something that was culturally more significant from that year lol truly the Glenn Close of the general field!

one thing we agree on though is campaigning, I think there's a very slim chance but they can still try, you never know  (well mostly because I want more content :icant:)

Honestly no other album deserves it more...Gaga really delivered a well-rounded and well-received album that was catchy, a hit, and viral

It’s high time Gaga wins a MAJOR FIELD Grammy. Like shallow not winning ROTY/SOTY. Bad romance too. I’m sorry but does she need to have a husband going on stage calling them out for that, in order to win?

well yeah and it's even hard to know which portion of each bloc is going to stick to their genre, I could very well see Bad Bunny take pop votes, even Kendrick

let's keep it a buck though Copacabana was historic but no where near the impact or reach the halftime show had especially in the US (keep in mind Grammys are an American show)

I hope she win, about time she wins it.  But somehow there's a little teeny tiny feeling that it would be an upset. Grammys love doing that. Watch it'd be someone like Jelly Roll or Benson Boone or some old acts that nobody consider winning before

(ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ✧*:・゚ But if you can't be good, then just be better at it (*´艸`*) ♡♡♡
