It just happens that ARTPOP starts weaker and gets strong in the middle while Mayhem starts strong and kinda fizzles out after The Beast (which I love but Applause is HYPE) 8 and 9 were close. Bling 31,650 Posted October 7, 2025 Share Posted October 7, 2025 (edited) It's quite difficult for me to do the ranking thing, but I love both albums and both are in my top 3 for Gaga. ARTPOP wins as a whole body of work, ever so slightly, as MAYHEM is very frontloaded and I find myself skipping more tracks on MAYHEM than ARTPOP. With that said, MAYHEM also has some of the best songs of her entire career, but I would still argue ARTPOP is the stronger project as a whole body of work, but just slightly. MAYHEM would be her top album for me (even over BTW) if it was more consistent and delivered more of the first half vibe throughout.
