SOON 4,159
I’m a swiftie and little monster, but I only listen to 5 songs. The album is definitely an underperformance. However I do understand why people are attacking her because she might not be a commercial flop but critically underperformed. Basically a field day for taylor antis gaga, halsey, lorde, taylor, dua

tlittlemonster 2,264
No. I think this criticism is needed now more than ever. Many people, Swifties included, are starting to realise that she's a greedy corporation, who prioritises business, sales and charts over art when she's already a billionaire. Hear me out - this will be her downfall. In a few decades, she will just be remembered for her numbers rather than her music. It's sad. Also, no one can make me believe that Taylor Swift selling 3M copies of an album with 30+ versions and time-limited variants with acoustic versions is the same as an album like The Fame selling those many copies with one version. The worst thing about this album besides its cringe lyrics and lack of originality, is the themes Taylor chose to sing about in this political climate. And, how she chose to manipulate her fans into buying dozens of different variants of the album using scarcity and timers in this economy. It's disgusting. Obobo 3,292
in fact we should be even more harsh on that hunched back hag! let’s continue to shame mediocrity and praise hard work and talent. imagine having the privilege of being a working musician and all you do is sing talk to high school level poetry as a grown ass adult? there’s so many artists working their asses off daily to improve at their craft.

Makes me think of Elvis - he is less remembered for his music and more remembered for being rich/ making ten million mediocre movies and albums. Edit: with all due respect to Elvis, he was a generational talent and an icon - as is swift. Edited 6 hours ago by Louvre
darkgaga 5,696
No. The album is not good and she is so greedy and money/record obesessed with all those limited variants. It is getting annoying. And I went to see the eras tour, but even there she made me cringe at points with how fake she seems

Not at all. She is trying to beat a record that Adele set with only one version of an album - and at a time when vinyls were out of vogue! There will be ten million copies of this album on the CD rack at thriftstores in ten years when the Swift hysteria finally breaks and fans walk away from their ruler.

LOVEDRUG 10,843
For everyone here who claims to hate her, it's remarkable about how much you all talk about her. It's one thing to discuss her new album or criticise her for things that she's done that you dislike, but the sheer quantity of threads is just bizarre. There are users in this thread who I see talking about her more than they talk about Gaga, on a Gaga forum. The evidence being that out of nine threads in the 'new threads' category, five are about Taylor Swift. It's just unhinged. Like you said Elvis at least was a fashion icon and his music was revolutionary at his time. I don't think we can say the same for Taylor Swift. If we're being honest the most iconic thing about her is her numbers. 2
Lucas 27,475
No, if anything, everyone is too nice to her and she needs to be humbled. Now when it comes to the sudden hate trains, that's truly not surprising, it was trendy to like her, now it's trendy to dislike her. Most people online are very much influenced by others and can't think for themselves.

Xardas 1,614
Some opinions may come across as rude or harsh, but I understand where they originate. I genuinely believe — and I think many others would agree — that Taylor Swift’s unprecedented commercial success feels undeserved. I don’t consider her music to be the worst, but most of it strikes me as dull and uninspiring, and it rarely evokes any emotional response in me. As Gaga fans, especially now during the Mayhem era, it feels unfair to see someone whose work resembles fast-food pop — easily consumable but lacking excitement — achieving numbers several times larger than our idol, whom many of us have supported for years. It’s not pure envy or jealousy; rather, it’s a sense of cultural injustice. We’re trying to reconcile that feeling within ourselves when engaging in pop culture discussions. Your comment is so spot on. I think we will be revenged in the long term. Trust me, Lady Gaga's legacy will much bigger. A true performer, fashion icon, vocalist and revolutionary artist. 1
