Hmm..your opinion. I think Disease is a great song and is definitely the hardest song sonically she’s ever created. I find myself appreciating it more with time and think it makes a fantastic opening track. No it’s not GP friendly in this particular 2020s musical environment of easy-listening, soft core coworker music pop, but I guarantee had it not been a single, a lot of people in the fandom would’ve been complaining it got Replayed/Scheibed.

Also, to agree with some others, most Gaga fans do like Disease and liked it when it came out even though it failed to catch on with the GP.

I’ve made my peace with this era. The good songs she blessed us with are incredible masterpieces. Disease, Abra, GoE, Vanisha, PC, CSTH, KFL. +HBDUWM + DWAS

The rest of the songs don’t scratch my dark-itch but it’s whatever. 

I really like Chromatica and it’s not even dark.

I never said i dont like the song, its OK for me. I just dont like video, and all my opinions that I wrote are for the video.

Well all this era she said she was weird in the beginning of her career cause her exects kept pressuring her to be sexualized, so I guess since she doesn’t do this to protect herself she’s not as inspired as she used to be 

to add that she barely works with the greatest fashion creatives she used to work and

honestly musicians get uninspired with time, when they feel they made it and get swallowed up in the Hollywood millionaires lifestyle or they isolate from the real world they run out from things to say, she herself said it

Dark is many things, it can be a concept, the lyrics, the mood, the aesthetic even just the fashion. and dark can be fun too and not something depressing or creepy, it can even be sexy.

For example, TFM is considered a dark album, but from a concept, the fear of.... but the songs? most of them are pretty happy dance songs. like Telephone.. actually only 2 songs are "dark" in the sense of it, Teeth and Monster.

Mayhem is a very dark album, even a song like Don't Call Tonight is dark and speaks about emotional abuse of a parent and the fear of confronting them.

 

This is what I like about Mayhem, it has so many layers of darkness, that it's actually challenging the fans themselves and their own idea of "dark album", because they expected something very in your face, very flat, but then they got this big onion to deal with.

Would argue Bad Romance and DITD are plenty dark.

I remember when Disease came out everyone here were obsessed and  when the song didnt clicked worh GP suddenly some of you saying its not good enough…

no this is it exactly like i fking love TDD it’s like zombieboy on steroids but if the GP doesn’t like it that doesn’t take away at all me liking it

Fans don't claim DWAS as much because they get thrown back the argument that it doesn't count because 'CollabGa'... but its numbers do get used a lot let's be real
