Spooky season is here - why isn't TDD smashing?

Because Disease is coming back with a vengeance!

Disease GIF by Lady Gaga

So so happy we actually got Disease as a single and MV. If they had skipped it for later I’m sure it would had been buried and chosen a different song. I love Disease because it doesn’t care about charts, GP opinion etc Which is what I wish Gaga did either other songs too. TDD just doesn’t feel as organic, especially with its MV and tie-in with Wednesday. Was worth a shot but would have loved a better, more creative, wacky MV

It just didn’t land with the GP as much as we wanted. It’s pretty decent imo. Bloody Mary is her true Halloween hit.

Disease is the Halloween hit. Bloody Mary is the Christmas Hit :sue:

I keep saying this but keep getting ignored:

The song is smashing in Latin America. Doing the video on The Island of the Dead Dolls was a wonderful decision.

Yeah its doing amazing here in Mexico i hear it a lot at clubs and parties but yeah US monsters/people having 0 taste as per usual

There's a reason why the song was left out of the original tracklist. Zombieboy was a far stronger choice for a halloween spooky hit. Not to mention the waste of Eden and Vanish.

Thriller is probably the only one.

it feels like this website has latched on to this idea of a halloween hit since Disease dropped, just so they can blame bobby for not "taking advantage" of halloween

mother, what must i do?

Except the 31st, Halloween season is not that big boost you all say

because all of you cigarettes are bitching about it instead of streaming the hell out of a fun fab song! Look at the swifties celebrating and streaming the hell out of garbage and you are hating on a great song.

It's still doing decent, which is all I really expected from a campy Wednesday song. It successfully breathed some life into the era. It's a good song but Mayhem just has better to offer. :vegas:

Because the “Halloween effect” is not real and it has never been real for music. Delusional fans just used it as a coping mechanism to justify that TDD was not smashing.

Many of us were hoping that with the advent of October and spooky season, TDD would see a significant chart resurgence.

This was today's update:  Spotify Global - #157 (-22) The Dead Dance - 1,331,204

What is going on?

Easy. October does not boost streaming as much as ppl think especially WW. This is lowkey wishful thinking

Only the biggest classics like Thriller, Ghost Busters, even Gagas Bloody Mary seem an increase and even those the bigger increases are seen in halloween week not all month

A song that never took off doesnt suddenly see an increase in October because it kinda fits with halloween. Ppl need to be consciously aware of it or already like it for Halloween to have any impact at all
