Wewaited12hrs 124
Incredibly underrated film and Gaga's best on screen performance to date. I said what I said! 1 3
27monster27 13,712
The moment I knew we were in trouble was the moment I saw that Lady Gaga didn't have an iconic catch phrase for this movie. No "art of darkness", "100 people in a room", "father, son, house of Gucci", etc. he/him/his
robboadam 2,317
Love it, still watch it (sorta) regularly. Very underrated/misunderstood. I still love this review of it by Mark Kermode (very famous UK critic) which I think hits the spot: 1
Lady Gaga 2009 597
The hate JFAD got was so overblown, obviously it was different from what people were expecting but it didn't deserve a fraction of the backlash it got. I love it so much and Gaga was amazing in it! And Joaquin was a great musical partner for her, he exceeded my expectations! 6-Time VMA Slayage (2009-11, 2013, 2020, 2025) 1
Pablo 7,913
It had a terrible script and story. Didn't think the jukebox musical pieces added anything. The actors did okay. Only good thing we got out of it was Harlequin Don't visit my profile
LG2008 5,619
This is an iconic bomb and the way Gaga turned the situation around after this disaster is amazing... Makes MAYHEM's success even more impressive I'm torn because it kinda "helped" MAYHEM but it succeeding would've helped Harlequin and Disease a lot and it could've been Gaga's best performance. She was barely in the movie and they could've done a lot with her character, I always get angry just remembering how they fumbled this movie and how everyone was blaming Gaga Edited 8 hours ago by LG2008
ALGAYDO 33,079
I feel like people exaggerate how bad it was. It wasn’t terrible. It wasn’t great, either, tho.
skaxboy 5,783
I don’t remember Folie a Deux. I only saw it once during the Fan First premiere. I was a little underwhelmed with the film overall. Loved Gaga in it. I remember the film ending and sitting there like I enjoyed the first one. This one left me wanting a little bit more action and a more provocative and shocking scene. Anderson123 38,856
I like the movie and can watch it several times but have my issues with it. I don't think it deserved the hate it got and it became an internet meme to hate it. The best part about all of this is that we got one of her strongest albums Harlequin and Happy Mistake one of her best ballads ever. I still think the movie deserved some Academy Awards nominations. Best Cinematography, Score, etc. and it could've been Gaga's Lead Actress Oscar but still pisses me off how so many of her scenes was just Harley sitting in the back when they could've done something more with her character. Well, they could've done more than just a court room drama.
