27monster27 13,678
Ten years ago on October 2nd, 2015, Lady Gaga released her initial cover of "I Want Your Love" by Chic. The early version of the song was originally intended for Chics covers compilation It's About Time, but the album was delayed three years in a row until 2018. Lady Gagas updated 2018 version was included on the album; the originally 2015 version never received a "true" release outside of the music video. The video was a showcase of Tom Fords upcoming Spring/Summer 2016 clothing line. This cover infamously played a role in the disco rumors for Lady Gagas then upcoming album Joanne, then only known by its teaser name "LG5". ---- I was SO obsessed with this back in 2015/2016. I was a very new fan at the time, so I don't think I new about it until awhile after it came out. This is definitely such a cool moment in her career, even if very small. She definitely ate this up. The 2018 version is awesome too, though I like the stronger "HAVE YOU EVER BEEN IN LOVE" scream in the 2015 version better personally. he/him/his 3 4
HeavyMetal Halcyon 1,751
I was DEEPLY obsessed with this sound and single in 2015/16, and so was everyone I played it for. As an original fan from The Fame era, I have my…. Opinions about Joanne. This song was so refreshing and fun. Chromatica Forever 3

Quasi 10,940
I’m still obsessed with this clean, sleek, almost sterile aesthetic. I remember being so excited thinking that was the direction she was headed in because I just know Gaga could pull off a true modern disco era so effortlessly. Still hoping it happens one day. Also this paired with something like the Intel visuals would be the end of me. I don't understand pineapples, so I don't eat bananas. 1

Imagine this aesthetic with Future Love as a single

hamartia 1,517
I would honestly love for her to make a true covers album of modern songs (or at least more modern than jazz standards ). The reworkings on Harlequin were so cool, and everyone in the industry loves her so she'd have no trouble getting the permissions to do so. It gives her a chance to dabble in different genres without committing to an entire project of disco, rock, etc. One can dream
