It’s really not particularly impressive to simply say, “This is what he’s saying he’s going to do” and then be vindicated by him doing it.

I never said that. I said that she was right about everything and barely anyone listened.

he’s deploying troops to major blue cities to intimidate and KIDNAP citizens. we are already living under fascism, and this is one of the many telltale signs. already preparing myself for the day he’ll declare some state of emergency rendering him unable to leave office.

wish i could say that his supporters are just brainwashed at this point, but most of them are truly full blown nazi’s living amongst us.

god i’m scared for the future, or rather, the possibility of no real future :saladga:

The answer is nothing. He’s looking for a predicate and so he’s literally just claiming that there’s rampant violence or political turmoil or some **** so he can send in the military.

I can answer this because I live in DC where the Guard and feds have been here for months now. DC had a big rise in crime in 20 and 21 surrounding Covid, but it’s been free falling since then.  City was improving greatly on its own, but Trump, etc lies pretending things are out of control because these are heavily Democratic cities (DC votes about 92-94%blue for President on average) and Trump’s driving force in life is personal grievance.

Since they’ve been here, there’s been the occasional bully tactics which make news, but 99% of what they do is stand around in tourist heavy areas with low-moderate crime. Literally. Stand around. The Guard especially has so little to do they’ve been washing walls and ****.

Oh and one fed got hit with a Subway footlong by a drunk gay calling him a fascist who now has art in his honor around the city.

You said her platform was impressive because she told people what he was saying he was going to do and then he did it. I guess I just disagree with the idea that it’s somehow praise worthy to pay attention to and raise the salience of what your opponent is doing as a politician lol. But I agree that people should’ve listened to her but also people should’ve just listened to what he said and took him seriously.

It's moreso based on how people are reacting to her. I agree that a simple "I told you so" isn't the most impressive thing in the world, but beggers can't be choosers and a lot of people (even some on the right) are saying "well she did end up being right". I think what it is is that people will listen to her or someone who quotes what she said more in the future.

The military are in an awkward spot. It is their duty to defend the country against the enemy within as well as the enemy without, but with each passing day their commander in chief makes it more and more clear that he and his administration are themselves the enemy within.

Trump or Hegseth will eventually give them an order which, if obeyed, will place the military firmly on the side of that enemy within. I don't know what will happen at that point.
