Hardest fandom moment?

Hey everyone. 2025 has been an incredible year for Gaga and us as a fandom, with a critically acclaim album, hit after hit, one of the greatest shows of all times and awards left and right.

But, Gaga has recently made a few comments regarding those fans who saw her in her lowest lows, especially during the ARTPOP era. So, I'm wondering, what has been, in your opinion, the most difficult time to be a Little Monster? Regardless of whether you follow Gaga from The Fame, ARTPOP, Chromatica, etc?

For me personally, February 2013-August 2013 was a really rough time. Gaga was getting some serious backlash during the North American leg of the Born This Way Ball and then the tour was cancelled due to her hip injury. Then seeing her on a wheelchair got me very worried, what if she wouldn't be able to perform anymore? That was also the first time she skipped the Grammys, and her last single (MTN) was released over a year ago. I remember a lot of people turning their backs on her because of all the controversies. Madonna kept making awful comments of her, and all of her records kept being broken (most followed person on Twitter, most watched video on YT, etc). When she finally posted the first photo teasing ARTPOP and the Internet went crazy, I saw the light once again (I wasn't ready for the mess that was going to be the era but I was just happy we were getting new music lol).

I think Chromatica era was a huge struggle for me to connect to Gagas work in general

For me the time between the end of the ARTPOP era and the beginning of Mayhem era were such hard times to support her and be a fan. Like with Joanne I felt like she tried to negate everything she built up as an artist, i disliked pretty much most the ASIB songs, Chromatica was such a sound letdown for most the album and the minimal promo got me even more down, since she had no issues promoting everything under the sun minus Chromatica music and all the bad movies she was in was just blah. Disease returned some hope but then Abra made me stan again and Mayhem solidified it. I'm a bit annoyed she wasn't super vocal against trump this time around and the silence on Gaza is also deafening.

The hip injury during the BTW Ball and the GP’s resentment of her during ARTPOP were really, really tough. Ironically it’s now looked back on as an artistic high for her, but man did the tides turn.

people talk about Chromatica being tough and I know it was for Gaga personally, but I don’t think it was too hard on us fans. It would have been very different had the pandemic not derailed plans.

I mean I'm more than happy with what Chromatica delivered: a #1 hit and a top 5, #1 Platinum album, 100M+ tour, a Grammy, five VMAs, one AMA, two BBMAs. Chromatica is also her second best reviewed album ever. The music scene overall was very tense because of Covid and also the BLM movement. Even other artists' eras like Dua's Future Nostalgia or The Weeknd's After Hours didn't feel as big as Taylor's 1989, Billie's WWAFA,WDWG? or Gaga's own ASIB.

But, I do understand people's point, the era could've been much bigger had it been managed properly. Gaga had all the hype due to ASIB's massive success and her recent Oscar win, so 2020 was meant to be her year for sure, so it was disappointing seeing all the plans getting canceled. I do feel Chromatica walked so Mayhem could run, because she's given us everything she couldn't do in 2020.

November 3rd, 2013. I remember watching the  live stream and bawling my eyes out. I actually haven’t watched it since.

wouldn't say "hard" but definitely less enjoyable and that was ARTPOP era, too much negativity from all sides... fans, critics, the press, and even the gp but most importantly she was not doing well mentally (it's less fun when she's not enjoying herself!)

I had people at that catholic school I was at going in on her during "Judas" but that was iconic ngl

Speaking from a personal experience, 2013 was extremely hard for me, and obviously extremely difficult for Gaga too. I always felt closer to her because we were both having a terrible time. I wouldn’t say I look back at that era as amazing, but I do look back with a sense of accomplishment. I was able to overcome an extremely difficult time in my life with the help of ARTPOP. Without that album I don’t believe Gaga would be who she is today. I can’t put into words how proud I am of watching her rise from the “bottom”of her career back to the top better than ever.

There’s basically two different points, one is the fact that the era was indeed a mess for obvious reasons plus the negativity all over her made it truly hard for her real fans at the time.
But at the other side, she was delivering no matter what, especially when it comes to appearances and visuals which imo, represents her peak creativity form.
I can only imagine what else she could do on that matter if it things were different tbh.

I think fans over hype it cus it was the last era of the old gaga, who always gave street looks and mega promo

there was a lot of confusion, miscommunication and undelivered projects (understandably, now that we know why), i always see fans talk about how amazing it was when really... it wasn't :messga:

she did everything she could to put on a show but i think people let nostalgia cloud what really happened

mother, what must i do?

I loved ARTPOP and everything about it as an era, but it was very hard to see her being constantly put down and the album not getting the treatment and acclaim it should.

And on a personal level I would say Chromatica. I wasn't doing well then, and an album that could have resonated with me so much turned out to be just bland. It was the first time I wasn't feeling something she made and it hurt a bit, I fell in love with her music and thought I would always love everything she did.

Similar to a TV show people loved when they were kids, they look back on it and only remember the good and have completely forgotten all of the terrible aspects of it.
