The rollout has been really quiet and confident despite Jealous Type not really being a huge hit. They didn't even put out a second single pre-release to get a potentially high debut charting position.

I hope it has legs. I enjoy the album. It's one of the most seamless fusions of rap and pop I've ever heard.

I knew when Jealous Type had no hype that this album would follow a similar path 

She should push the song with SZA as single #2 and hopefully the album can pick up some momentum

As much as I like her, I saw this from a mile away when she announced the lead. 

I think the comments she made a few years ago about not liking her fans added up unfortunately. And I think the album cover is a cool picture but just not a good album cover.

Scarlet didn't do great sales wise either tbf. Her R&B music has never really hit the GP well anyways, I don't understand why she pushed on that genre so hard. Feels like they wanted SZA vibes and numbers but that's never really been Doja's domain anyways.

she called her pop songs "cash grab" music during Scarlet and said people fell for it, now she's saying pop is her genre... like which one is it?

It was part of the promo strategy. And this isn't even really Pop, it's R&B.

It's her shortest promo cycle so far, when normally she put out 2-3 songs before hand. And even then, Jealous Type and Aaahh Men are the only songs w similar sounds. The rest of the album sounds nothing like them and it made me not into the album, I'm not into R&B. I'm just gonna cling to Scarlet another 2 years.
