UK, Canada, Australia recognize Palestinian state

The UK, Canada and Australia formally recognized a Palestinian state on Sunday.

Why it matters: The decision by three of the U.S. and Israel's closest allies further isolates the Trump administration and Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Both oppose a Palestinian state. 

The move comes ahead of an international peace conference organized by France and Saudi Arabia in support of the two-state solution and in opposition of Hamas that will take place on Monday in New York.

Several other countries, including France, are also expected to recognize a Palestinian state during this week's U.N. General Assembly.

It would be ironic if Trump and Netanyahu would be the reason for the creation of a Palestinian state.

But come on, it's time, I really hope that these politicians and governments are not doing just another political stunt to make their voters happy.. because it most likely what is happening here.

Kinda ironic that almost 108 years after the infamous Balfour Declaration that said "Palestine is a land without people", the UK now actually recognizes that Palestine and Palestinians exist on their indigenous land.

Sadly, as long as Israel continues its crimes without adhering to the international law, and as long as these countries continue to sale arms to Israel, Palestinians aren't going to enjoy these recognitions. 

But it is a historic day.

U.N. meetings and global summits furthering communication, public opinion has shifted, and another report came out that (rightfully) classified what's happening as a genocide.

I also think there's another very cynical reason but I don't want to spread that kind of negativity right now.

Oh is that what we are? Cuz I swear we turned into borderline adversaries these days

 

OT: But glad to see more Countries are finally seeing the other perspective here on the matter. These slaughters need to end, like, now!
