US President Trump said on Saturday that if Afghanistan does not give back control of the Bagram air base to the United States, "bad things" will happen.

"If Afghanistan doesn’t give Bagram Airbase back to those that built it, the United States of America, BAD THINGS ARE GOING TO HAPPEN," Trump said in a Truth Social post.

Ok, my uneducated ass on this matter wont give an opinion if hes right the US should take back the base or not as I dont know enough about the nuances in Afgan tbh

 

That said the way he goes about it, its fascinating to think he promoted himself as "anti war" and "get along with everybody" yet when it comes to global diplomacy he knows nothing but conflict

He negotiated with the Taliban for an American exit, so it’s rich for him to now say we’re gonna go back in.

Back door to China, especially their nuclear sites; for geopolitical reasons base should never have been surrendered.

I prefer peace, but in these geopolitical times, active containment is best readiness for anything worse, as the European Cold War was also a good deterrent in its time.
