Even without DWAS MAYHEM performed better than Chromatica btw, which had a very decent performance at least in its initial run.

Gaga has at least consistently added her one-offs to Mayhem. DWAS was a gap of 7 months from it to Mayhem. Then after Mayhem came out there was 6 months until she added TDD. In comparison, Cardi added WAP to an album 5 years after release. And then didn't even bother to be consistent and add her other singles too. Where's Enough, Like What, Bongos, Hot ****, Press, Money? If you wanna talk about Bruno, we can also mention Please Me being missing as well from Am I The Drama. Gaga stuck to adding what she did in that time period. Cardi took whatever stuck from whichever time period. 

 

And it's also funny that you seemingly intentionally cut off your Top 10 comment at the Top 10. Because when you move the goalpost just a litttleeeeeee bit to Top 15, Abracadabra peaked at #13. And then Disease was #14 on the Billboard Global 200 and Abracadabra #5. Garden of Eden was #31 and Vanish into You #38. In comparison, Cardi has yet to see the Top 25 of the Global 200.

a lot of non gaga fans have criticized her slapping DWAS on the album. saying that this album wouldve tanked if it had not been for die with a smile a song that is mostly brunos vocals. i dont blame her for adding it to mayhem cuz its smart, but when cardi does it (yes for older songs) i dont think yall should drag her because gaga is getting criticized for adding dwas on the album. one could argue that WAP and Up, cardi is undoubtedly the lead artist and gaga adding brunos song is a little like her taking credit for a song that clearly is his and had most of his vocals.

you can argue all you want but the fact of the matter is both artists added songs onto the album to boost sales and streaming, there is no denying DWAS was added to inflate the numbers of mayhem thats simply a fact.

i dont care if either of them did what they did. from an integrity standpoint neither of them shouldve added dwas or wap/up to their albums, but from a business POV i get why they decided to do that. i just dont like yall dragging cardi when gaga isnt innocent.

7 month old song is nowhere near equal to a 3+ year old song

I still think there should be a rule against chucking on a past hit for your next album, DWAS included

Nice try but DWAS was released barely 2 months before disease. It still feels very much like part of the Mayhem era especially considering the timing. Mayhem would still be doing solid and respectable numbers without DWAS.

WAP and UP however are outliers from cardis past which she should have outgrown by now but the desperation to boost sales of an album that will certainly underperform and her insecurity about her commercial performance will not allow her evolve as an artist.

I couldn't care less about charts and streams, and I haven't been hypocritical at all - if you had bothered to read any of my numerous posts complaining about DWAS being included and how I've never considered it part of Mayhem.... *babe*

Saying that, at least DWAS came out close to the album release, WAP came out 5 YEARS ago...
