David Letterman has spoken out in defense of talk show hosts who have been cancelled as a result of right-wing ideology. He said that this hit close to home for him as a talk show host of 20 years. He warns that the path of authoritarianism is dangerous, and he states that the US is on the way to a dictatorship where anyone could get silenced.

Keep speaking out. I know that, just like Jimmy Kimmel, David Letterman could be controversial. However, bowing down to authoritarianism by censoring people is wrong.

I hope more people speak up. They did the same thing to kathy griffen and no one spoke up for her.  looking back she didnt deserve to be treated like that either.

I’m not sure how people don’t see the difference between what’s happening now and past “cancel culture” 

In the past, it was someone actually saying something racist or discriminatory and people choosing to “cancel” said person, and in many cases people just forgot and nothing actually happened to the person.

What is happening now is literally cancelling TV shows, getting people fired, over simply not celebrating a white nationalist and the government is supporting it.
