Gaga to play Cleopatra

I think having her play Cleopatra would be surrounded with too much that would overshadow the film and her performance. Half the conversation will be about whether or not a white woman should be playing her in the 21st century, whatever you think about her heritage is whatever, it WILL happen and the other will be comparing her to Liz Taylor’s performance. 
 

She would basically have to walk on water and be a Best Actress winner at the Oscars in the end. So I hope it isn’t true.

My bigger concern isn’t her race, but her age.  

I think if they set up the history in the film, Gaga’s ethnic background won’t be an issue.  However, Gaga is 39 now, the same age Cleopatra was when she died

I want her to play the infamous queen Jezebel! Imagine during her execution,

I can already smell the debate.. I remember the discussion about Naomi Scott who played Jasmine from Aladdin who's half indian half white and she was bashed because she was "too white" for the role.

As much as I'd like to see her in cool roles like that, I hope it's not true. I wish she would just play a "fictional" character that doesn't exist... hopefully in a dark thriller or any kind of fantasy movie would be amazing

I think Hollywood should do original ideas rather than remakes. I love Liz Taylor as Cleopatra, and the movie should be rediscovered and not rebooted, whatever. Of course, Gaga could pull it off, but the time has come for a more "down-to-earth" role or a camp sci-fi.
