monstertoronto 10,348
These mid week releases are not it. Wednesday release giving only 2 days tracking before the tracking resets on Friday? I know she doesn’t care about the charts apparently but I wish her team cared a little more. What would be the harm in just waiting 2 days to release on a Friday to benefit from a full tracking week for its debut week. I mean why not just give every single it’s best chance.

Sorry but She can't have a Song on a show and not Release It that day. Its frustrating as was abracadabra. The chart position Is important but creating momentum Is and optimizing its visibility trumps that, to me. Releasing It on Friday would lose lots of buzz Besides the streams are increasing so It payed off

She could have released a teaser or a trailer for the video on the Wednesday. It’s not like people would lose interest in seeing the heavily teased new Gaga song just because it was two days later. I don’t believe it would list any buzz tbh handled properly. Edited 7 hours ago by monstertoronto

They gave the single its best chance when they released it alongside Wednesday...one of Netflix's most popular shows ever. To be honest, no one cares about tracking or charts besides chronically online stans. Songs either organically grow or they fizzle out, and their chart placements don't reflect how people view them. Abra also wasn't released on a Friday and it went on to be a big hit. 𝔗𝔥𝔢 𝔪𝔲𝔰𝔦𝔠'𝔰 𝔤𝔬𝔫𝔫𝔞 𝔟𝔯𝔦𝔫𝔤 𝔪𝔢 𝔟𝔞𝔠𝔨 𝔣𝔯𝔬𝔪 𝔡𝔢𝔞𝔱𝔥 4

Abra is indeed a big hit but it didn’t even crack the top ten, and it definitely should have. Maybe the GP doesn’t care about charts that much on thr one hand but they do perceive “success” through sound bite media and stats like how many top tens or number ones an artist has. It does impact their perception. I just think with a little more strategy she could get the milestones she deserves. Sure, maybe for a split second they'll be like, "Oh, it was a top 10 hit. That's cool.", but they won't think about it after that. They either vibe with the song or don't, and their placement on the charts isn't going to affect their perception of it. I mean, in an ideal world, Gaga would have every song of hers be a top 10 hit, but that's just not the reality we live in. Not every song has to hit a specific number on the charts. I think what matters is that the GP generally considers her to be a critically acclaimed artist and performer. And as Killa said, I think the fact that it debuted with Wednesday balances out any "lost" streams. The song was used in the show, so it wouldn't make sense to wait until Friday. Sure, it's only two days, but people's attention spans are short. Most people wouldn't have waited until Friday to stream it. Maybe they would've randomly remembered, but they most likely would've moved on by then. 𝔗𝔥𝔢 𝔪𝔲𝔰𝔦𝔠'𝔰 𝔤𝔬𝔫𝔫𝔞 𝔟𝔯𝔦𝔫𝔤 𝔪𝔢 𝔟𝔞𝔠𝔨 𝔣𝔯𝔬𝔪 𝔡𝔢𝔞𝔱𝔥

Gardevoir 9,878
It’s a debut. What’s a big deal. Lmao, seeing the stats you should know that if it’s constantly doing good next week will be higher. Sugar, spice, and everything nice.

The song will find its audience hopefully. I just can’t help but look at the dings released by the younger generation and they easily chart in the upper reaches of the chart and it saddens me a bit that Gaga can’t still do that so easily when she so deserves it. I’m a chart gay and probably always will be. But regardless I still love the music. Edited 7 hours ago by monstertoronto

I think they would. We are trained to see a release date for singles (when they do announce then) and then people who are interested do listen to it. It’s normal. I think even more so if a popular show said “The Dead Dance” officially drops on xxx date” the day of the the program release, I think peoole would still have interest. I think single release dates still work. This one would just have had even more publicity because of the show.
