Luckyyyy... I wanna go to Japan and hang out in a CD store. I'd go into do much debt

Her visit probably did impact BTW, since sales earlier in December were 3-4k a week. Japan in general is a market with quickly declining physical sales (unless you're AKB48 or Arashi), so expecting her to hit a million is a tall order when the last time one of Japan's own divas hit a million was Namie Amuro's Best Fiction, in 2008, and that was a compilation album. Expecting a Western act to do better than all of the local acts is ridiculous (except for Girls' Generation, who somehow manage to defy the odds)

for me, gaga is not anymore a foreigner to them. I mean, she's already well known there.

Anyway hope her next album slay more Japan..

She is a foreigner

Avril Lavigne used to be reeeeeally big in Japan and not it's not that much... You can be real known and still underperform imo.

anyway...Born This Way is still top 20 which is real nice, since most of the stuff drops quickly in Japan. Just look at how much Final Fantasy 13 sold in it's first month (I know it's a video game but it's still gives an idea)

week 1 = 1,464,964

week 2 = 179,951

week 3 = 107,330

week 4 = 33,571 (already half price)

She could have a dedicated career in the Japanese language for forever and she'd still be a foreigner

Look at BoA, who's legitimately been in Japan so long her Korean (her native language) is starting to sound Japanese, but she's still recognized as a foreigner, and she's had 6 #1 albums.

Her visit to japan had a great impact digitally, and physical, She already has the 4th highest physical sales and the 2nd highest digital sales this year. :golfclap: Lots of people already bought her stuff.

She can't do much to take over take the big idol groups sales.
