Was “Dead Dance” worth getting no other single?

one could argue that after disease and abracadabra- Mayhem could’ve been finished with its singles run- as Gaga’s last 3 solo studio albums also only had 2 official singles.

So For mayhem to only have 2 actual album singles is not crazy.  DWAS doesn’t count to me because it was a single BEFORE it was on mayhem and was originally NOT apart of mayhem.

 

i know MANY of us wanted a follow up to abracadabra.  Whether it was vanish into you, garden of Eden, how bad do you want me, so many options.

 

and we waited 7 months (over half a year) for Gagas next single, The Dead Dance. I know leading up to it, we were super hyped to finally have a new single. And then it dropped and at least 60% of the fans seemed disappointed and underwhelmed to say the least…

BUT there are also a good handful of yall who do seem to love the single so overall

i want to know, if yall think dead dance was worth not getting a different mayhem single?? I know mayhem era isn’t done yet so we could get another single eventually but FOR NOW.  What do y’all think?

We should have gotten a single in June for the summer.

But TDD is single worthy and the numbers don't lie, it's a smash hit in the making and the fanbase being disappointed was a great signal,, the same happened with DWAS and it started smashing, then many people switched up, just like they will switch up on TDD.

Honestly, I don't think TDD stopped us getting a post launch single. 

The industry did.

TDD is probably the only reason we got a post launch single.

And, should it do well and trigger a viral surge to the album and any other songs within, it might be the only reason we could potentially get another

After being a fan for so long I've learned that the songs that end up becoming popular typically are not *completely* embraced by the fandom (or at least me). Typically, I prefer the songs that don't blow up versus the ones that do. Disease is hands down the best OG song from Mayhem and the GP paid it dust. Abra is an outlier.

But DWAS, Shallow, HMH, SL, etc? Not ones I ever put on voluntarily. Maybe its from being overplayed/hearing it so much, but her less popular tracks typically are the ones I love the most.

TDD is good, but other tracks on Mayhem deserved videos.

I think thats a very very big maybe. 

None of the other singles have had numbers big enough to warrant a single being released thus far, even with the inclusion and ongoing success of DWAS.

I think it's hilarious when monsters express disappointment in Gaga for not "doing enough," whether that's interviews, promo, online posts, music videos, etc., but then when she actually does it, y'all are like "OMG NO, NOT LIKE THAT THOUGH! THE SONG SUCKS, THE VIDEO SUCKS, THE CHOREO SUCKS,...". Beggars can't be choosers. Y'all either want the promo you constantly demand from her or you don't.

I staunchly believe that had TDD been on the album since the beginning, y'all would be campaigning for it to become a single like VIY, GOE, HBDUWM, SOAM, LoveDrug, PC, and Zombieboy. It's a great song and it definitely has the potential to be a big hit.

Would another single from the album have been just as good? Absolutely. But the truth of the matter is that no matter what she did, people would've complained anyway. MAYHEM has the most single potential out of any album of hers imo--and it's not like she can pick all of them. If she picked VIY, people would've been mad she didn't pick GOE; if she picked HBDUWM, people would've been mad she didn't pick Zombieboy; if she picked LoveDrug, people would've been mad she didn't pick SOAM. Monsters will find a way to complain about anything
