It's a good song. It's not her best and I kind of see her tweaking the sound a bit to fit with the Wednesday audience but still keeping "the MAYHEM vibe" of it. It's a good song for Wednesday but imo the song is a mix of Zombieboy and Kill For Love, which was why I think it was added to the album (with the rest of the extra tracks). I see this as a The Cure / Hold My Hand situation, just a cute little single droplet outside the album and she may not perform it outside the era anymore (though HMH was performed during this year's Super Bowl)

Dont think so. GOE, VIY, HBDUWM are a lot more catchier

TDD sounds too close to SOAM and KTL. Objectively, I think that two are more catchy on first listen.

I like the Dead Dance a lot. Not as much as the vast majority of tracks on Mayhem, but I still think it's a fun track and I'd rate it above a lot of stuff on Chromatica & ARTPOP & Joanne.

I still think it sounds like someone decided at the last minute that Zombieboy has too many light moments to work for Wednesday, so they did a darker song with the same groove, with more straightforward lyrics.

Her story is that The Dead Dance was something she was already working on, and during the Wednesday negos, the producers heard it and loved it so she held on to it for them, developing it further.

Nothing last minute, because Enid and Agnes shot their scenes already with the beat of TDD.

Soundtrack songs are so supposed to evoke the feeling of the show it's from. That's it first and foremost, and I think TDD succeeds in that, while being a catchy pop song.

The production Is very good. The lyrics are ok. I actually love this Song, its a fun dance Song.  I don't think its bad at all. Don't understand the reactions here.

I didnt like it at first , its  one of her grower songs. Now I love it. Fits perfect with Mayhem Deluxe.

I agree. I see why Gaga initially left it out.

I think it's perfect for Wednesday so I'm still glad it saw the light of day but compared to other songs on Mayhem it's very mid.

Still catchy and fun for spooky season.

I just find something about the production a bit off especially as it goes into the first chorus. Something feels sonically abrupt and a bit "jolt-y" about the transition.

And overall, again it's just mid compared to the rest of Mayhem and feels borderline generic, which isn't always a bad thing mind you. Which is why I think it's perfect for Wednesday just not for Mayhem.
