Bling 31,469
It's good, not great. The production, verses, and her vocals are the best part. The first chorus is really jarring because you start out with this gothic, trance vibe and then she yells and we're in this funky chorus and this part of the song sounds way too close to KFL/SOAM. The chorus feels really uninspired, but the 2nd half of the song is better. The 2nd verse with the "creature of the night" and the synths are GODLY, I just wish so much of the song didn't sound like other songs from Mayhem... Still hoping for more dark, industrial bangers to be added on to Mayhem for Halloweentime Edited September 8 by Bling

Of course it doesn't need to! Because at the end of the day it's her creation and she can do whatever she wants. But also I've been following her for a long time and I got to know what's up with her career as same as everyone here. So knowing that context, that's what I think about this TDD situation. It's an opinion, honest opinion as you can notice is requested in the topic. Is not even a rant, if it would, this place would be in flames. But I'm not that mad about it, is just another dissapointment. The Dead Dance is a flop and sorry for expecting something sublime as video and single like 911 or John Wayne, etc.

Guille 1,276
I don't understand the hatred for this song. I think it is a good song that fits perfectly great on MAYHEM. Not her best, not her worst, but fun and catchy. Period.

Just A Holy Fool 2,591
The song is instantly catchy and fit for the times of its release (Halloween vibes, playing into her viral Bloody Mary era with Wednesday). Is it her best song? No, but its definitely a bop.

This 10000%. I think a lot of people who claim they want all these “dark, experimental, electronic, industrial, techno” songs from Gaga think they have more “sophisticated” taste or something. Like, some of y’all could barely handle Killah. What makes you think you’re gonna enjoy an album full of this hardcore experimental music you claim you want?? Gaga has ALWAYS been a pop artist. And by the way, I’m not using that as a pejorative. It’s more than ok to be a pop artist. Yes, she has many influences that set her apart from most of her contemporaries, but she’s not this underground artist making 13-minute tracks with no discernible melody or structure. Her inspirations are David Bowie, Prince, Madonna, MJ, etc., who were/are some of the most popular artists of all time. It’s ok to just like pop music. If you genuinely listen to that kind of music all the time, then no problem, but I feel like the ratio of people *claiming* they want that stuff and the people who actually end up enjoying that kind of stuff Gaga puts out is disproportionate. RichAssPiss 4,952
It is a Mayhem bonus track that got elevated to a single because of a placement opportunity. Also the choreographer from Wednesday flubbed the assignment to create a viral dance for it. No one watching the video or show understands what "the dead dance" is. Also, you cannot force a viral trend this way. It fits with Mayhem very well and belongs to the Zombieboy, Shadow of a Man Nile Rodgers sort of sound from the record. But it wouldn't make the tracklist or get a video normally. I'm happy to have it because I'm unsure we'd get another single/video without the placement hype. But yeah. It's A LOT of hype for a bonus track basically. But, you know, I'm streaming ans enjoying it.

Which is why it confuses me sometimes when fans can't handle her nose tracks like "Disease" or "Killah" but claim ARTPOP/BTW are their favourites. Tis a mystery innit..
