How Bad Do U Want Me is not off-topic for the album’s storyline at all

The imagery for Gaga’s Mayhem album is essentially built around the contrast between her two personas: The Lady in Red and the White Gaga. The story began with the Disease MV, carried on with Abracadabra, and is further told through The Mayhem Ball tour.

So the fact that How Bad Do U Want Me also explores two opposing selves—the good girl and the bad girl—doesn’t feel out of place or disconnected from the album’s narrative. That’s why I still think the idea of it being released as a single with a music video is possible. Though the character might appear a bit less edgy compared to what we saw in Abracadabra or Disease.

Everyone is complaining about there being no song of the summer, when if How Bad Do U Want Me was a single with a video it for sure would have been. They should have released Abracadabra a tiny bit sooner than they did and have had How Bad Do U Want Me as the fourth single starting on album release date. And keep Dead Dance locked in a vault guarded by 👹 and released Zombieboy as the Wednesday single (could literally have the same exact music video). Then when the tour ends Vanish Into You as the final single after the tour with a live music video of her in the crowd across all the dates.

The only off topic thing in Mayhem is Blade of Grass, just like Dope is to ARTPOP, period.

Hm… I don’t actually agree. The album is purely Gaga with all her weirdness and uniqueness. It’s basically a song that implies Michael loves her no matter how she is perceived and that “blade of grass” represents their relationship isn’t a traditional one. (Not a diamond ring)

however the song structure is definitely kinda underwhelming

Nah, Blade of Grass, Vanish Into You, and Die With A Smile are the apocalyptic love songs of the album and all help each other fit.

I agree it may present as the gaga in ripped acid wash jeans and a leather jacket vs the Audrey Hepburn inspired looks gaga has done over the years. Or maybe even all of the gaga eras

I feel like dope belongs in ARTPOP. The album is like a whole RAVE/Drug trip and dope as the closer, is almost as if she came down from the high, or woke up the next morning and had to face the issues she was running away from in the escapism of the album.

Ns I love the song but I do think she’d step into a “copycat” controversy again in the public if she did release it more widely.

I mean this is the same girl that wrote songs like Eh, Eh. The OG fans know that it isn't out of left-field-- Gaga started as a writer for record companies before becoming her own artist. She's very versatile.

And it would be all the Little Monsters fault tbh they’re the ones who have been yapping about it sounding like Taylor (when it barely does like let’s be fr it sounds like Lady Gaga made it lyrically)

Unlike some toxic Swifties, other swifties actually love and stream the song cuz they already have a soft spot for Gaga compared to Katy, Beyonce, Olivia etc.

It would actually do good I dont think she'd be accused of anything more than it did when it was first released.

I agree! I’m just saying I watched a lot of reaction vids around the album from people with less obsessive gaga tendencies and *everyone* made that comment (not in a bad way but were like oooh this sounds like her, cool!)
