This has been my experience for nearly 15 years. EVERY single time Gaga releases something, I get excited — it feels like a holiday and I’m blessed with a better day because of new Gaga music, and then I’ll come on here and it’s such a vacuum of fuc*in* negativity and kills my vibe. 

And to those saying we’re adults and should have opinions in a “safe space” blah blah. Ya’ll are annoying too because there’s a difference between an opinion and repeated whining that’s based on impossible expectations. It just manifesting incessant negativity and adds to the overall atmosphere that lacks any gratitude. For example: jazz. 

Song is great! Such a bop for end of summer. Fantastic vocal play, wild movements and visuals from Gaga in the video. Performances coming up like damn, grow up and stfu. Heart breaks for Gaga actually. One of the few, true ARTISTS, and she’s met with constant critiques based entirely on mediocrity.

i think also there WAS a lot of pressure on TDD because what happened to mayhem?? We got disease then abracadabra and then waited months before another single/MV and this is what we ended up getting - a tie in with a teen TV series.  
 

so honestly I do think the disappointment is valid… it was just a very underwhelming climax for this mayhem era. 

But who says it's the climax? To me it's just a fun side project that happened to occur during the era

I just don’t really get why people let a forum stress them out. If I don’t like a topic or comment, I just scroll past. No need to take it personal or keep chasing replies. It’s just a forum, not worth getting angry over stranger's opinions.  

And I do agree that there are more people complaining about the complainers than there are actual complaints.

This is exactly what I do. I ignore all the comments and spoilers and listen to the song by myself first, so I can have my own reaction. And I love it — I love the video too. But when I come here and see all the negative comments, it affects me a bit, even though I still hold on to my own opinion. What I want to say is that people can spread hate towards others and then excuse it by saying it’s “just their opinion.” They don’t seem to know the boundary between constructive criticism and excessive complaining.

I hate this type of threads whenever a new release comes out. This is a Gaga forum where people share their opinions, even if it’s negative. I know it might get annoying seeing people dont agree with you but that’s how forums work. 
 

meanwhile I dont agree with most of complaints, some users actually do have some points. And with the release of TDD, I don’t blame them

Climax cause where in the middle/end of the era.. everyone was hoping this was a mayhem revamp since otherwise mayhem kinda had it moment back in the spring and then was dead during the summer and now it’s fall and this is what came next and at this point we will only be lucky if there is one more single/mv for anymore mayhem tracks. Otherwise she finishes the tour and dead dance really was the last hurrah that it all led up to

It's a forum. It's opinions. It's personally what I LOVE about GGD.

I love reading different people's opinions. Plus, we're a fan of Gaga who is so unbelievably diverse artistically, therefore we all are approaching this from different perspectives. Some of us love jazz, some don't. Some love her camp pop, some don't. Some love a big emotional ballad, some don't. Some love her acting roles, some don't. Some love Haus Labs, some don't. Need I go on?

Yes, of course — some people will like it and some won’t, that’s totally fair. But going as far as harsh judgment and tearing it down isn’t really what a fan should do. That’s not constructive criticism, that’s just spreading hate and negativity. Instead of offering helpful thoughts, it comes across as dismissive and destructive.

I think both camps are right about the complaints. Like, there’s too much complaining about complaining, but imho with the complaints it’s more just the quality of the complaints are sometimes wild. So intense and uptight and way ott. It’s more comical than anything. 
 

Personally the song is so much fun and the video has grown on me. I don’t care if people disagree or if they hate both. I have a short list of Gaga things I don’t like.  But seeing some folks go into full scale meltdown, especially over a song that was a rumor not too long ago is wild.

I just didn't love the song, though I like it, and thought the video was just OK. Why should I pretend otherwise? We're just sharing our opinions.

I love mayhem, I love this era and I have expressed my love to the era AND to Gaga several times. It doesn't mean I have to love everything she does. If Gaga herself doesn't like every song she's ever released, why should I?

 

Edit: How Bad Do You Want Me is one the best pop songs ever created and I will stand by it.
