HEARTSTOP 3,147
Y'all are so negative. I think the choreo suits the vibe and purpose of the song perfectly. It's fun, it's camp, and it's simple enough to be repeated at every Halloween event like the Thriller one. IDGAF

Are fans not allowed to critically engage with Gaga content and explain why they don't like it? The idea that it's hateful or wrong or exhausting for fans to share unfavourable opinions on anything Gaga-related is absurd. I've noticed over the past few days that whenever someone explains why they're disappointed, the thread is immediately derailed by over-zealous, hypersensitive fans who take it upon themselves to feel personally offended by a negative opinion. They tend to not actually engage with the opinion but just complain about it and paint Gaga like she's a victim who isn't robust enough for her art to be critiqued. There are some extremely simplistic communication styles happening in here. It's extremely juvenile for a large chunk of members of a discussion forum to take the view that "people who don't like this, should shut up". That's what's toxic - not people sharing opinions. Ok that's cool and all, but where are those non-simplistic negative opinions? Because I think if people could actually articulate a good argument, no one would be mad at different opinions. The problem is the flooding of negative comments with no argumentation behind them, just desperately trying to be stereotypically "sassy", "catty" or "shady" for no good reason. Shade and sassiness can be funny when they come from a place of playfulness, but what I've seen here so far is just a toxic mess. IDGAF

It's extremely juvenile for a large chunk of members of a discussion forum to take the view that "people who don't like this, should shut up". That's what's toxic - not people sharing opinions. I've always advocated for having thoughtful, intelligent, and constructive conversations on this forum. I've talked about it numerous times before. I also dislike over-zealous fans who defend 100% of the things their fave does because they have blind loyalty to them. That said, that isn't what's happening most of the time. But let's be honest, most of the time, stans don't have the time and/or patience to write out something thoughtful and constructive. It's just a bunch of comments like "Ew, this is cringe," "I hate everything about this," "I can't stand this anymore," etc. None of that is constructive. None of that is interesting. It's just hateful just to be hateful. And in that case, why can't I come back with the same bluntness and harshness as those comments? Something I vehemently dislike is when people try to police other people's comments without understanding that if all comments/opinions are valid, then that includes the ones they're complaining about...Yeah, you can have your negative opinions and criticisms about Gaga. Likewise, I can also have negative opinions and criticisms of your comments. It's a two-way street. Just because you disagree or take offense with my comment doesn't make it any less valid. When it comes to TDD specifically, it's frankly annoying and frustrating to come into every thread and see multiple people complain about the song, video, choreo, etc. I understand it's not for everyone, but it's hard to enjoy these things when you see an influx of people hating on it.
