Patients with fibromyalgia are more likely to experience voice symptoms such as hoarseness, an asthenic voice, or strained voice quality. The exact mechanisms are still being researched, but they likely involve neuromuscular dysfunction and systemic issues within the fibromyalgia condition itself. 2
Monstermilo 4,877
the moral of the story is she should not be doing shows with only 1-3 between her shows should be 7-10 days in between so she gets plenty of rest for her fibro and for her vocal chords. This has been the most intensive tour of hers since the ArtRave/JWT meaning that she isn't used to this anymore. Plus, some of the note dodging she was doing led me to believe that her voice was getting tired. My only issue is that she knew last night… why didn't she say anything. People took time off and everything . Rest up Gaga but please give people more warning ! Free Palestine 🍉

A lot of people don’t realize that with fibromyalgia it can really affect the throat, so it makes sense many wouldn’t know. I really hope she’s doing okay. Completely! So many Monsters were worried when we saw the insane schedule—it’s such a crazy amount so close together. TCB had much bigger gaps, and that’s why I felt safe about attending my show. Knowing Gaga she probably tried to rest her voice as much possible in the hopes of getting better in time to perform tonight. She’s the last person that would want to cancel and disappoint her fans, I doubt it was an easy decision.

At the start of the tour she was talking about being nervous for the shows but being so excited after one night she couldn't wait to get back... obviously she could have been just saying that but I think her physical health is okay and this is just a vocal strain (possibly from rehearsing a lot to incorporate TDD in the show?). Most artists will vocally be okay with these types of breaks so long as they don't push themselves or do anything extreme. She probably pushed a bit too hard with some screams, she is doing a lot of wicked screams during the show, and it caught up to her. I doubt she would accept to this type of tour schedule if she was at all worried her body physically couldn't handle it, we know how much she hates to disappoint fans. 3

I have fibro too and am a vocalist- stress can very quickly affect the throat and so it takes more energy and force to sing normally. I wonder if she has been stressed about things we aren't aware of and it caught up to her voice 3

If you think of it like a sport- It's like feeling a bit sore the night before you go out to play a game when practicing and thinking you could just rest and feel better the next day.. but you ended up being more sore than you thought so you have to sit out. That being said, she did this with her physical body on the BTWB and so I'm glad she isn't taking any chances. Anderson123 39,026
Bless her, hope she has a speedy recovery. I know she must be heartbroken to have taken this decision but real fans need to understand that this can happen and she obviously tries her best to do her shows exactly as she intends even when she doesn’t feel well. She’s been working so hard this year it was a matter of time something like this happened but hope it’s not that bad and she can continue doing some more of the recent shows she has. She did some Chromatica Ball shows sick with COVID, some Born This Way Ball shows with a damaged hip. We know that when she cancels, it’s because she really has to! Awrah999 4,401
I’m so sorry for the Miami fans and those who traveled to see her. I know it takes so much time and money and planning/logistics and can’t imagine being disappointed with very little notice before showtime that being said Gaga’s health is the priority and her voice is her gift—this happens to every vocalist at some point and I hope for a quick and full recovery soon! as a side note, people turning this unfortunate situation into a “this is why stadium tours are better” argument is just 1 2

Gagaism 12,122
It would’ve been better if she could schedule 2/max 3 shows a week, with a 5 per 1 days gap in between. I guess this isn’t much possible to do with arenas availability though, so it could work better for stadiums, similar to what Taylor did for Eras Tour.
