My only issue is that she knew last night… why didn't she say anything. People took time off and everything .

Rest up Gaga but please give people more warning !

I understand the frustration of those who waited until showtime, but Gaga probably tried until the last minute not to cancel the show. She apologized four times in her statement, and I honestly think this must hurt her more than anyone else, even though she made the right choice. Yesterday was supposed to be a happy day for her, new music and MV. She was probably going to perform TDD for the first time. I'm sure she had high expectations for last night :(

I just hope she recovers soon

This has me worried for future dates. There are a lot more shows to go so I wonder she is going to manage that.

Makes me wonder... why is she making so many high-register songs lately. She could do another smash like Alejandro and her vocal chords would be pleased. Those high vocals are unnecessary anyway, most of the time. :iamfair:

"And as you know I sing live every night"

Humble bragging in an apology post. Love her so much :staymad:

if she cancels/postpones more, I'd be devastated to miss my date but also like....if  I get an $800 refund I wouldn't be too mad. Thankfully I don't have any other arrangements that cost money that I would lose out on.

Honestly I hope her team and LiveNation learn from this. Gaga and the crew are working 2x, 3x and sometimes 4x more to make up for stadium attendance with the arena shows. It's a risky choice in terms of endurance for any artist, let alone someone with a background of health complications.

Omg why are we all blaming the schedule. She could just have easy have an infection or a cold, which can happen at any moment, even if she did just 1 show a year

Everyone blaming the schedule, she could also just have gotten a cold or just a virus. This could happen just as easily if she had 10 days between shows

Speaking from experience, normal vocal strain from overuse will usually clear up with a couple days of rest (particularly if you’re singing properly, which we all know she is). However, vocal strain from performing while sick can be a real b*tch that is much harder to shake. I’m glad she is taking it seriously.

I think everyone knew that this tour was bound to have a few mishaps with scheduling when it was announced. Given the complexity and intensity of the show anything could have happened, but her health being the main issue. The timing of this cancellation is extremely unfair to anyone who was attending. It honestly seems like it was done last minute just as a way of grabbing merch sales and parking money for the venue which would not have to be refunded by them or Ticketmaster if you purchased it with your ticket. It wouldn’t shock me at all if she had no plans of performing much earlier than announced but was asked to not announce until a specific time due to those costs.

The only thing this situation reinforces for me is that her doing a broadway run probably not going to happen. She can’t manage 3-4 shows per week at her vocal peek then 8 vocally demanding shows is unfortunately probably not something she’s going to be able to handle.

Also, she could eliminate almost an entire song from the setlist just by not screaming “put your ****ing hands up” lol.

Ngl this is a pretty cynical (and probably completely inaccurate) tame. You seriously think they purposefully waited til the last minute to cancel to…sell merch? They literally closed the merch stand last night once the announcement came thru in spite of 100+ people still being in line. The venue is absolutely not calling the shots re: cancellation, btw.

The Broadway comparison also isn’t particularly sharp because there are literally no musicals that require the lead to be on stage as the only person singing vocally demanding music for 2+ hours; not to mention that with Broadway you eliminate one of the most strenuous parts of touring: traveling.

It is very common though, and always has been, for these cancellations on the day to be very last minute.

I'd very surprised if it wasn't something ticketmaster/livenation deliberately does.
