It’s definitely a grower not a shower.

Still not able to understand the added value (besides the naming) Tim is bringing to the video. Production and cinematography wise, it has the value of a spoof published by College Humor in the early 2010’s…

In comparison to the blockbuster production value of Disease or even moreso Abracadabra, it feels flat.

Have to remind myself that we were absolutely SPOILED with the Abra MV, they went above and beyond with absolutely everything and has become one of her most beloved videos

anything coming after was most likely gonna pale in comparison

but I feel everyone hyping the fact that Tim Burton was directing this video made me expect more from it :selena: there were some shots that feel out of place or felt like they were on screen for far too long, like when the first verse starts and the entire thing is one shot from a distance from her, felt a bit awkward on the first watch :selena:

but it’s a cool video, I love the colours they used later on and the dance is great as well, I do wonder whether it was Paris who did it or someone else

Wouldn't describe it as flat at all. But, I agree to a certain point. Nevertheless, we have to keep in mind Tim directed the MV because Gaga appears in the Netflix show he is directing too, where the promo song is also made by her. If he directed a MV to launch an era, not attached to a side project, it would definitely feel different. Just see the video as what it is: promotion for Wednesday and extended visuals (good ones) for MAYHEM

Not to mention how this surely feels like a win for her. She opened a door to work with him again in upcoming and future potential projects
