People talking about being disappointed because of the Tim Burton hype. WHAT HYPE? The self made expectations because of her involvement with Tim Burton? That's on you. And those saying the lyrics are bad... uhm. Let me just say: Love it when you call me legs, in the morning, buy me eggs. To each their own, I suppose.

We're all entitled to an opinion.

Some scenes are great (especially the dolls) but what is the story line of the video?

A gourmet chef could cook me fish but i don’t like fish so im not eating it, same logic

That's great, but would you sit there and pick out every detail of the fish you don't like and make someone feel bad for their work?

It's fine to say something isn't your taste... I'm talking about the people who go on deep dives to be critical and start attributing their dislike to their own expectations :)

it's her dancing on a green screen. sooooo much cg which works if you're janet jackson and have a good choreographer but when it's richy and the moves just mostly look insane it's a chop chop chop. The only interesting shots were the closeups when it was flooding her face and the laying down at the start. But the rest is like....very very very beneath her videography and literally any girl could have done those shot compositions. It's a flat video in that it's basically just static mid shots of the dance routine with some cutaways to keep it varied. Even a video like Lovegame which i think is similar in that it's dance-focused has some more intriguing shots that keep the eye invested and actually cool, well-shot choreography. Hell, TEOG is a beautiful way to shoot a dance-focused video simply as it follows her basically improv-ing around a beautifully-lit soundstage. It feels heartfelt, schmaltzy, retro, and authentic even if simple. RoM just felt like a pop machine project.

These all sound like a personal taste issue though, maybe find better adjectives that reflect your own personal opinion. But the video is epic considering covid restrictions offcourse it was going to be green screened.

There's a lot of great things about the video The cinematic visuals, the smooth transitions from gaga to ariana, the STYLING , the fast cuts also adds to the grungy aesthetic, the  symbolism. etc.

Why all the meltdowns about people simply saying they find it 'meh'

that's totally ok

saying that is fine, but I'm referring to people who go on deep dives to be critical and start attributing their dislike to their own expectations  :) Im also referring to more than just this video

They filmed for 1 or 2 days in july when she was in the middle of the promo tour. Her time before that must have been 100% dedicated to rehearsals and creative direction for The Art of Personal Chaos. Of course she wasn't going to serve a crazy concept in that timeframe, so she filmed a quick little video with cute choreo to promote the song, that's it.  Better than nothing. It was never hyped as anything more than that, that's 100% on us

People don't have to like everything. As long as it's a respectful opinion, I don't see what the problem is.

Yes indeed, and I just said my opinion. Did I imply others are not entitled to an opinion? If so, please point out to me where I did that. I am always open to correct mistakes.

It's hard to light a candle, easy to curse the dark instead.

Because….thats showbiz. It’s not always going to connect with the fanbase or the GP and that’s fine.

I never expected to say this but Sabrina's recent MVs have been more interesting and with actual story lines.

Disease was good, Abra was great, but this one is a skip for me unfortunately.

Mainly because we got used to Gagas work being big events, not random videos or songs. We want something that we can watch over and over again, but feels like a one time watch (and listen) that none of us will care about in a week or so. I think if we got a 3rd single from Mayham, and then this as an extra soundtrack release, people would love it.

But im still happy and not complaining, considering its her best era in a long time, and there is alot to enjoy about it.
