I'm lost, we dont deserve her lmao

Good thing that people with taste can actually appreciate this masterpiece

I loved the scary little dolls and her prancing through the forest. It's a simple video but guys... this song is for Wednesday. Please keep that in mind. I don't think she's chasing some intense metaphorical meaning behind this video and song.

I'm interested to see how this one will perform. Really hoping it does decently well, enough to justify additional video expenses for a last Mayhem single (VIY).

but I just hate those ugly dolls so ****ing much

They are so disturbing. She woke up and said let’s have conspiracy theorists have a field day with this one. I mean girl, read the room.

You continue to operate under the assumption that this song was made just for tik tok, so you are dead set on that aspect. You cant use that as a comparison retroactively because never before has Gaga attempted to do a song for tik tok...tik tok did not even exist back then.

What many users are trying to point you out is that Gaga's use of her low tone and spoken singing appears in other songs, so implying that she pulled that out of her ass as a desperate attempt for tik tok virality is just not valid claim. But to entertain your question:

How Bad Do You Want Me, Love Drug, Disease, Killah, Don't Call Tonight, Alice, Rain On Me, Babylon, Venus, G.U.Y. Born This Way, Judas, Scheibe, Black Jesus, Dance In The Dark, all have some deep-spoken breakdown, or layer. And some came out after Wednesday S1

I'm so confused :bradley:

When have I EVER criticised Gaga talk-singing in her deep voice? I adore it when she does that.

I've criticised the LYRICS she's singing, not how she's singing them.

Agree with me, don't agree with me, I'm genuinely unbothered by that - but at least try to not misinterpret what I'm saying if possible please.

VIY was supposed to be a single (as we've seen from the album sticker) but I think plans changed after Debra's performance (solid, but with the MC promo I'm assuming they wanted #1s across the board). I have a feeling that Single #3 was pulled but Gaga got budget with Netflix to support this song. Let's continue to support - she deserves the investment.

All just fine lol the track is like generic brand quincy jones thriller era. Just very very very fine. Lyrics kinda poo imo. It's obvious why it wasn't on the album compared to similar and better tracks like Zombieboy. Video gives RoM in that it's flat and boring lol Even if the goal was a viral dance it's so long and it cuts away from the dance too much for it to coherently catch on. Not shot very interestingly. Eh It's kinda the worst of Mayhem imo, and I can see where it was an after thought after even KSTH and KFL, both of which have more going for them.

I like her doing the novelty halloween pop thing. it's actually my favorite part of Mayhem. But this feels like the least inspired of the bunch and the writing of it is kinda eh when you think that it's kinda supposed to sit alongside tracks like Thriller, Monster Mash, etc. both of which have just more interesting writing.

Very cute video, I actually like her white doll look, I think she looks awesome. The build up is cool but I kept waiting and waiting and waiting for the cool purple/magenta lights to come in and things to get crazy and when it happens (and it just... kinda happens) it's over so quick! Same for the choreo. Although from Tim Burton I expected a lot more.

I like the song but I don't think there's enough space for all the different melodies she packed in. It should have been longer and maybe with a heavier bass.

I wish it would be the last time “acting” career would take so much of her time, energy and talent from her music career.

Nice video, but for a Tim Burton fan, it’s underwhelming..

So sploosh your juice all over me you Riverboy

The video is cheeseball and I don’t know that it was intended not to be a bit unserious. You can tell by some of her movements and expressions she’s intentionally being silly. Sometimes it’s ok to just have a little fun and nobody needs to have a stroke over the lack of costume changes and basic choreo.

The song is a bop idc. I’d place it somewhere lower mid Mayhem, but Mayhem is a great album so that’s pretty good.

Why are y'all looking for meaning in this one. This is the same woman who made hits about disco sticks, just dancing, and telling her boyfriend to stop calling her in the club. Please relax :deadbanana:
