Im sure the AD and contract was done way before Sydney Sweeney controversy

Maybe, but this is not a AD like with Sydney. This is a full on collaboration.

We have no way of knowing that other that what he told us, AE didn't comment and if you read the article there's some very interesting wording. :billie:

Also, did this ugly ass collection really take 1 year to make? :air:

Sydney Sweeney AD came out 3 weeks ago, there is no way they signed the deal in the last 3 weeks. I dont care if it took a year or not, all I know is he did not sign with them after the Sydney AD.

For some of you saying he would be signing the contract before … I mean, it’s clear that most of we here have, at least, a little knowledge about how those things work.

Thing is, he’s probably making money equally or even more than Sidney at this point, so considering all recent controversies, he could’ve think of the real necessity of keep going with it or not. It was either a LOT of money involved or, if not that much, he really doesn’t give a ****, which… oh well

How do those things work? lol All these people do is chase money. If you ask me, it's not out of the realm of possibility a deal was stroke recently and they gave him a collection they already had and that seems more realistic that HIM designing anything lmao Especially for "over 1 year", like he "told us". :icant:

Then we have this huge coincidence of this aligning perfectly with the super viral Sweedey campaign (for better or worse), what are the odds? :ororomunroe:

and like you said very well, he's a multimillionaire, he could have stroke this down after the Sweedey controversy, yet, he didn't.

This just feels and reads like a calculated move ngl, I'm just asking questions :billie:

Just logically thinking

If Gaga releases a song with Wednesday next week, is it logical to assume she signed a contract with them last week, or is the logical answer it has been done months in the making?

I mean, we already knew gaga was working on Wednesday for months and months now with actual proof, not really the same thing.

You are also ignoring the huge coincidence of this aligning perfectly with both his engagement AND the Sweedney viral campaign, I don't really believe multi-mullion dollar coincidences exist. Again, just asking questions lol

I have corporate experience for large retailers. Merch buys occur sometimes a full year before the product is launched. Some ultra fast-fashion brands have shorter timelines but for standard fast-fashion brands (AE would be one), this is planned at least 6 months in advance. Likely even longer because brand marketing teams need to secure talent, receive samples, and then shoot content with the talent. He's likely bound contractually to participate in the campaign given the merchandising involved-- if he wanted to back out, there would probably be some huge legal battle or some insane back-out fee.

I think what we should be focusing on is the fact that they announced their engagement to boost album sales for Taylor and $$ clout for Travis/American Eagle. It's just so gluttonous and fake.... thinking about them makes me want to barf

I swear american eagle used to be the brand name for boxer briefs at Primark. Like when did they become an actual (nazi adjacent) brand?

American Eagle has been a fairly popular retail brand in the US for at least 20 years
