Gaga often fumbles on the announcement of a project, but her music doesn't leak in the same way other people's music leak. Her entire albums aren't on telegram weeks and months in advance. I also quite enjoy her Millenial way of teasing via instagram or when she played some snippets in Paris, I think it feels more authentic and personal to actually her as a person being excited to tease something and not as a big marketing campaign - we saw a little of it in 5ft2 with Florence when she was just trolling in her hallway at home posting random scheiße to troll us/her fans. I love that, but might just be a personal thing - I also see the other side, I just prefer her way of teasing and releasing I love her way of teasing as well, but its just overdrawn for my taste like she made it look like the album is coming by the end of summer, but then it came at the tail of winter
hELXIG 43,576
Idk how they got so out of touch in regards to things like.. knowing what fans would expect from a mysterious countdown Gaga used to be so good at teasing and building hype for the right things but now it's like.. important things just pop up out of nowhere, and totally random unimportant things get a whole mysterious countdown on her official website. And they seem to just have no idea how to create anticipation or what do it for or how to use it where it counts. Don't even get me started on the extremely messy tour rollout We just have to accept that we will never know when something important is coming, or if something we're being led towards is actually worth our attention/hype or not I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin.
lilboyblue 5,723
In any case the rose-themed background on the website, plus the roses added to her costume is 100% alluding to Rosaline... so the lead up to Wednesday is amping up a bit

I usually would agree but I have to disagree this time because tbh I think us regular people, who are in touch with the pulse of pop culture and who know how things work in the pop culture sphere and the context of things like a countdown, DO actually know better than the multi-billion dollar, money hungry, out-of-touch, elderly billionaire CEOs who wouldn't know their Lana Del Rey from their Taylor Swift. Her label runs things so badly so often. Either in an outdated way that would've worked 15 years ago but doesn't apply to the modern day at all, or in some random way that just makes no sense. Anybody in their right mind in 2025 would know to save the mysterious countdowns on the official website for important releases. And would know to advertise a tour more than 10 days before tickets go on sale. And to actually have some decent promo rollouts for an album release. Taylor Swift's team (as much as I hate to say it) get it right every time. A countdown on her website MEANS something because it should mean something in 2025. Not that I even care about this particular thing because I wasn't the slightest bit invested. But they should know by now and it's ridiculous that they don't I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin.

RAMROD 110,922
The discourse for a nothing countdown is so chaotic ngl It should be clear there was nothing special to it, but to count down the start of MSG dates, that's an important dates for her, a New Yorker. Performing at your hometown is always a big deal no matter how many times she already done it, so I'm not surprised if she went a little bit extra, if we were actually being logical about it. I mean, she is obviously not gonna sing Dead Dance before it releases, nor releasing a new single, a new remix, or a whole new song that will overshadow Dead Dance. Like, c'mon now And she rarely, if ever, brought an exciting guests, unless for one time show. This is just a elaborate marketing strategy. The melody that you choose can rescue you 1

I personally didn't believe the timer was for a release and I don't fault people who were expecting something but let's chill now I have a theory meltdowns are good engagement for twitter and social media and they roll with it The melody that you choose can rescue you

But they should know by now and it's ridiculous that they don't I only checked in briefly last night right before going to bed, but correct me if I'm wrong, the countdown wasn't on the landing page when you type "ladygags.com", right? I agree with your point in making countdowns impactful, but it was in a Mayhem Ball section of her page.. that's where I'm coming from when saying LM set themselves up more often than not 🤷🏼♀️ edit: it is the landing page, but that one is heavily Tour themed, so I never really saw the countdown, that's somewhere on the bottom as something that's separate from the tour. But as I said, I see the point why people could get their hopes up Edited August 23 by bpmMonkey
Nagini 3,305
I honestly don't even care about the countdown or lyrics/quote etc. I just love her new website and the fact that she's connecting with fans in this way again. Love Michael for spearheading this for her, it's so sweet.
