Ava Max about cutting ties with Cirkut, new management and tour plans

For the first time in her career, Ava Max cut ties with Cirkut, her former boyfriend and longtime producer, and Madison Love, her ex-co-writer and former friend. While Max doesn’t address it directly, fans have inferred that her single “Spot a Fake” — which was meant to be the lead single off this album, but didn’t make the cut — is inspired by Love and Cirkut beginning to date after Max and the producer’s breakup after 7 years together. 
“I made this album because I wanted to prove that I can make the album of my dreams without my last collaborators,” she says, without naming names. “I know the fans know the story of what happened: I was betrayed and I was heartbroken, and I was really hurt.”
 I was so used to working with my main producer at the time, Cirkut. I think for me it was emotional. I couldn’t get into a studio without crying, and it actually took a month and a half for me to feel comfortable recording without him. And I did end up eventually finding an amazing group of producers that I absolutely love, who are now like family. Pink Slip and Inverness and David Stewart.


New management: "I’m really grateful to be with Ron Laffitte and Dana Salant [of Laffitte Management Group, who manage Backstreet Boys, Carly Rae Jepsen]. I tried not to rush it too, too much, but I asked them one question: “Do we have the same vision?” And we did. And I think that was the main thing that was lost in the last managements: We didn’t have the same vision. Ron and I are on the same page, where he wants me to tour too, just as much as I want to tour, so that’s very important to me."

Tour: "It’s postponed, it’s not canceled. I think once I start touring again, it’s not going to stop for a few years now. Now it’s just going to go, go, go."

I mean, her and Cirkut had good musical chemistry we can’t deny. I really wish she could make it to afford a good producer to work with because she’s got something.

For this era that’s it unfortunately. I’m just glad I could happily enjoy H&H and D&D eras, now we can only hope for her growth, maturity and finally a better future for her career.

7 years of relationship is not like 7 days though. Much more ppl will end things way more dramatically in less time.

Breaking cycles is part of life, whether it’s a week, a month, a year or decades, for any sort of relationship.

I didn’t even remembered about that, which makes it even worse. Poor girl is having a tough time, really hope she’ll make through it.

I watched her performance for 4th of July and she looked somehow tired, can’t even imagine how it feels like to be inside her head with all of this.

I didn’t read anywhere in the article about cheating.

What I was saying is, sometimes people who have multiple examples of falling out with those they’re close with, are actually the problem. And they need to work on themselves rather than create a narrative as a victim.

That’s regardless if they’re a man or woman. So trying to frame my comment misogynistic is silly.
