The show itself isn’t. But I don’t think it’s unreasonable to want the Vanguard Award if that means a 10+ min performance from Gaga. Fans are quick to jump and say “this show is old news”, like ma’am we don’t actually care about the show we care about the performance that comes attached to it

Yes because it 1. Builds your brand and 2. Gives a worldwide performance that all fans can see except the 15k at that particular stadium (which you could have booked on another night)

Except that Gaga doesn’t have a brand to build anymore. She’ll get that award at some point though, I’d dare to say next year likely (if she’s not touring at the time). 

And at the end of the day, it was her and her team decision to keep it that way, it’s not like none of us here would make them change their minds anyway.

I don't mind Gaga not getting it yet. She obviously deserves it and I think most people would get behind that. Why not drop a few new videos in the meantime?

My guess is Gaga was going to get it in 2020 but with the pandemic they changed it to the TRICON award

Lady Gaga and the VMAs go hand in hand. Going shows that she recognizes her cultural impact. Plus, many fans on here have been saying that they want her to recognize her legacy as a visual artist, so I'm not sure why you are laughing at me suggesting this.

Besides, and I know some people will be upset by this, but the Lady Gaga we grew up with would not pass up a chance to perform at the VMAs to make money off of something else.
