Well a Video Vanguard specifically should represent a very specific stuff (which almost none of the recent winners apply). But the brand is just too well set in the media to change cause they should just call it Lifetime Achievement or Icon Award.

When they gave Foo Fighters the Global Icon I thought "oh well thats what theyre calling the vanguard now". But when they presented both awards in 2022 then I realized there was a loophole for artists to win more than one. So when Gaga has time to rehearse for a proper performance, then I wish for her to take it since she's, an actual, video vanguard.

Getting the award doesn't always mean doing a performance.  In fact, most of the recipients didn't perform when they got it. It wasn't until recently in the last 10 years or so that it became a thing thanks to Justin Timberlake and Beyoncé.

Gaga receiving the Tricon Award in 2020 was 100% because MTV had offered her the Vanguard award in the past (more than once!) and couldn't ever get her in the door.

And not to sound reductive but it would be trippy to see her perform a medley of each era in said era’s aesthetic throughout the show kinda like what rih did but with more theatricality

Chile she has 20 #1 singles, majority of which were solo on top of a number of Top 10, Top 20 and Top 40 tracks. The only music group with more #1s is The Beatles with 21. Not too mention consistently ranked as one of the top voices of all time in the music industry and a legendary vocal range. She even gave Jay Z his first #1 song back in 1999.
