She doesn’t even have to “come up with something fresh” she been doing that every album! She just needs to learn when to STOP. There’s always a natural stopping point for a tactic, she doesn’t get that. All these countdowns could have been emails from her website. Now we know there will be at least two more countdowns for two more variants, which is tired. A countdown is supposed to up the hype, make you anxious, check constantly…it worked for the album announcement, not for these.

I'm sure this will be an unpopular opinion, but oh well. 😀 All of these variants are SELLING OUT! I say GO Miss Swift. I would. When people tell me they are against gay marriage my advice is.....well don't be gay. Solved. My advice is the same for people complaining about all of the different variants.......don't buy them. I don't really understand complaining about something that you can just ignore. I'm sure Taylors' fans are thrilled.

Ok the blue one is extremely beautiful, it reminds me of a starry sky. I managed to get one and this is my first vinyl ever. After this, I’m planning to purchase a Mayhem one too and some other favs

because this sets a very expensive example that you can successfully squeeze your fanbase for money by using FOMO and variants

She's been doing this since before it was a thing, back in 2014 the 1989 deluxe versions came with 5 random sets of numbered polaroids so fans would get the album 5 or more times to collect all the sets, in Lover there were the diaries and in rep the magazines. 

From a marketing point I think it's genius, she's just been finding new ways to sell albums

This sounds like some k-pop strategy. Atm there is no song, no album, people don't know the sound of the project, she is literally selling out pictures. When she was torturing us with different variants of the previous album, at least the album itself was already available..
