Kevbev 415
Government Hooker is one of my favorite songs from Born This Way. I would have loved if it had been released as a single alongside a killer music video. I don't know if it would have performed well, though. I think radio stations would have been hesitant to play it due to its name. This would have been frustrating, since so many overtly sexual songs have done well on radio. What do you all think? I'd love to hear your thoughts!
NUTELLA 10,591
Very catchy, Blue Monday-esque production But the lyrics/subject matter limit it to being a B-side "hidden gem"
elsamars 919
I would like it to be release as a single and have DJ White Shadow Mugler extended mix on streaming
Chromanne 1,483
There will be many people who will be uncomfortable with the word "Hooker" and might end up like Judas when it was released as a single, nevertheless it's one of the most catchy songs in the album. 2
meltedplastic 351
It sounds like it would kill as a single today, but back in 2011, this would be way too “experimental” for a mainstream audience. The label would never take that risk. A lot of songs on born this way sound more fitting with today’s trends in electronic pop than it did back in 2011, during the peak of edm-pop. Born This Way is very ahead of its time and quite original with its industrial fused four to the floor pop.
dynamite 59,604
I can't see GH doing well as a single then or now tbh Like a poem said by a neydy in red 3
ALGAYDO 32,684
It’s an amazing song but not single material, unfortunately
crazygato 529
Not single material. The title is not very appropriate and the song is not that pleasing tbh. HML and Bloody Mary had more of a chance than this.
Shadow 6,632
Too bad it wasn't a single, but it was an edgy soundtrack for the Mugler Fashion show in 2011 which was iconic in its own way... Do your own research. 1
