genuine question are you trolling? because which major pop acts are making music like lana?

there's billie eilish, sure but that's just one artist... she shaped today's music scene? that's what gaga did with her debut when the charts became filled with dance music but the charts aren't exactly filled with lana-esque songs...

She influenced a lot of indie and even bigger acts. As you stated Billie is one of them, but then there's Olivia, Lorde, even Taylor Swift. From memory I believe also Halsey, Madison Beer,Gracie Abrams, Kacey Musgraves, Addison Rae, Charli XCX (mentioned her confessional lyrical content and world building), Troye Sivan, Marina, FKA Twigs, The weeknd, Ethel Cain and probs many more :p  yea she's a bit or a problematic girl, and most of her later discography kind of bleeds into one and other, but she changed how an artist can use world building and extremely confessional lyrics to build a world and soundscape for an album.

Even visually.. how many people leaned into the vintage americana after her? Post Lana tumblr was also a sight to behold. So yea, if you don't like her, whatever but don't discredit her influence on fashion, lyricism and overall music, cause she really carved the space for thr emotional person soundscape.

finally an answer :enigma:

I am actually a big lana fan, i've just never heard music like hers on the charts, unlike taylor and gaga have done

so that's why i was confused to see somebody say lana has a bigger influence than gaga when gaga literally switched the charts to dance music and made everybody step up their fashion and visuals

mother, what must i do?

"And when I felt like I was an old cardigan
Under someone's bed
You put me on and said I was your favorite

A friend to all is a friend to none
Chase two girls, lose the one
When you are young, they assume you know nothing"

That's deep lyrics to y'all? Stale bread has more character than Taylor's lyrics. I can understand liking it because it's easy to understand and catchy. Easily digested. But to mis-characterize what she's doing? This is something I would expect to see from a high schooler's edgy poetry book.

"Just dance gonna be ok da da doo doo"

You've picked a pretty basic song there, not all of them are going to be lyrically dense especially lead singles, try all too well 10 min version.

how big do u think her streaming numbers will be with the new drop

I thought we'd see a drop in numbers this era tbh.

But the spike in her numbers just from announcing the new album & the fact a lot of non-swifties are way more curious about this album than they were TTPD because she's working with Max Martin make me think she could have a massive era coming.

Lady Gaga is more of a direct  cultural force and major celebrity of her time (like Madonna, Bowie, Prince). An artist who reshaped spectacle, fashion, and queer visibility in mainstream music. So she's more influental in terms of pop maximalists, performance-driven artists, and K-pop idols.

Lana Del Reyis a quietly transformative songwriter who altered the mood and lyrical landscape of pop (closer to someone like Joni Mitchell or Kate Bush in long-term influence). She gave rise to more mood-driven, melancholic, lyrical songwriters, plus the whole vibe-heavy pop generation. The fact that you can hear Lana’s DNA in artists as different as Billie Eilish, Lorde, The Weeknd, and even mainstream rappers suggests her legacy might grow with time.

So I guess overall Gaga reshaped how pop stars perform and present themselves and Lana reshaped how pop stars write and sound. LIke there's no Lana sounding music because she's too hyper specific about her sound and storytelling, so it would imidiatley be called a copy, while with Gaga it's the fact that her production is a bit more acessible, but her image is kind of more what sets her apart from her peers.

So she moved away from safe pop and she has deep lyricism, specifically in Folklore and Evermore, causing the appeal for the masses. But not the lead single for the not as mainstream pop album that you proclaimed as risky? That adds up about as much as saying she has deep lyricism in the first place.

Also not sure what you thought adding Just Dance was gonna do. It's just a red herring because Gaga's lyrics have absolutely nothing do with what we're talking about.
