Someone on Reddit mentioned that they had hung out with Lana a while ago and she told them about Ethel Cain posting a photo of Peter Griffin and fat shaming her. This was before she posted that comment explaining her beef, so yeah this is probably it. And it makes this whole thing all the more stupid.

This beef seems too inorganic, kinda weird and kinda suspicious.

But w/e, one was a conservative who got to see the light and another married a MAGA and kinda confirmed that she is too, esp with all that questionable stuffs she did the past few years (mesh mask, question for the culture insta post, etc), so I wanna see them just go at it and see how will this end

I still don't know what to make of this. But looking into Ethel's recent scandal, this sounds like something out of her playbook if this is all true. I don't get why Lana's weight has been shamed by two minorities (a black woman in the form of Azealia and a transwoman in the form of Ethel). You'd think that they would understand the pressure that women in the industry are under to stay slim and also just the pressure of being women in general. And for why? She put on weight for a short period of time but lost it again just as quickly. Weight fluctuates, big whoop. I appreciate that Lana isn't fake and doesn't let people just come for her.

It's an even worse look that a transwoman is laughing at a woman's weight. You'd think a transwoman of all people would support other women and understand that weight is something that makes us all self-conscious and shouldn't be laughed at. And the best way to get people to stop messing with you is to call them out publicly. Wish I'd done that years ago when I was being bullied.

That reasoning for Lana being MAGA makes no sense. Not every Trump supporter was a Covid denier (one of my friends is anti Trump and never even got vaccinated) and Lana has worn proper masks in addition to that one she just wore for a music video. The question for the culture post is still misunderstood to this day as Lana was merely pointing out that other female artists do what she does and are praised for it while she's derided. The evidence of her being MAGA has always been flimsy and clearly based on stereotyping her based on superficial factors. In 2017, she stopped using American flag imagery as she didn't like what it represents right now and she literally publicised the fact that she put a hex on Trump. In 2019, she made an anti-gun violence song. And just a short while ago, she released a message in support of Palestine. That's along with all the other ways she's supported minorities over the years. Actually look at the facts before jumping to conclusions.
