Why do  most new releases have better alternative covers than the base cover? Like.... Most people spend the most time looking at the digital album, while the beautiful covers collect dust..

Two thoughts.

Overall, I like it, but the word “Showgirl” doesn’t stand out enough from the background. Even knowing the album title, my first read was more like: “THE LIFE…OF…SHOWER…!? Oh, SHOWGIRL.” Then I realised I’d completely missed the “A.” Honestly, they really should have fixed that — make the “A” and “SHOWGIRL” pop more.

That wig and the intense look are serving The Mistress of Mayhem!

Looks more like a direct reference to Antonio Lopez’s work. Mert and Marcus always references other photographers’ works.

I enjoy these covers, my fav one is the darker green-purple one. I hope they’ll restock and I believe that the merch will be very cool with this aesthetic.

If it makes you feel better if you missed out - these 72 hour flash sales done in the pre-order window have always had extra stock added in either the week before release or immediately on release day. 
Minus the Lover Live vinyl ltd edition, none of her limited time only sales for albums have actually been limited availability since 2020.
