I guess it was a mutually agreed decision because Gaga will not attend the show, and had they sent Abra for VOTY, she would've won, and the VMA's would not have allowed that. They need someone in attendance to win it. And perhaps a category as big as VOTY cannot get a pre-recorded acceptance speech. AND had Abra lost, it would have been a controversial take. This way they still nominated her but with a clearly weaker video. There's early 2024 songs in here that sadly a case could be made that they were bigger than Abra. I dont see Gaga wining a lot of these. However, if the rumor that a previous fan said about the VMA's is true (and it seems to be based on the bigger categories), The VMA's did agree to give Gaga at least one major award. Abracadabra is clearly the VOTY and I'm not even being biased. If we're talking quality then Abra takes it. But I guess they chose views/stats (DWAS) even though Abra in itself was highly impactful. Also how isn't she submitted in Best Pop Artist but she's nominated in Best Pop (song) lmao? If her team can easily f*ck up and fumble VMA submissions then imagine how much of a mess her Grammy submissions might look...I have to laugh! It has like none It’s like when Blinding Lights won VOTY instead of Rain On Me, and Rain On Me won SOTY instead of Blinding Lights Do they just pull the nominees out of their ass?
