Being able to clock influence =\= wearing another artists as a costume. IMO one of Gaga’s superpowers is being able to draw influence from other artists while being to both stay true to her vision and spin it into her own thing (much like Bowie did with artists like Elvis, Lou Reed etc). She also does it on basically every album, it’s just that MAYHEM she didn’t obscure some of the influence by processing them through as many secondary genre filters.
