Everybody said ‘OK listening it once was more than enough’

I gave it three, hoping it'd grow on me :traumatica:

Sorry I'm a little ignorant, do we know if this is the lead for her next album? Only asking because it would be great if it had a radio deal to secure the #1 spot on billboard

Idk 40% isn’t bad it’s kinda just solid. It’ll see a fall uptick imo. Idk why everyone is always thinking everything needs to have this immediate snap success. Especially in the case of Chappell, not one song of hers has ever been big without a looooong period of growth. That 40% was probably some combination of casuals and fans who have heard this song a billion times bc of ripped versions. So on that account, this seems like the makings of a solid success that has room to grow and not be front loaded

She's skipped TF, TFM, ARTPOP, C2C and she's already in her Perfect Illusion era

She's not confirmed a new album yet. Just following her previous routine of releasing music when she feels ready to

It's not tanking yet, but I feel like the song will have a similar trajectory as The Giver

Big debut but it will fade quickly...

Let's be honest, the song is not too interesting or special, it's a decent song but that's about it

That 40% drop is large but this is also a classic Saturday update. Let’s wait for the Monday update and see if the track stabilizes. I still thing this will follow The Givers path: very strong debut but rapid fall in the charts.

I think given the much more favorable buzz it’ll go up. It’s not like this is a hit Saturday party song anyway :laughga:

I know it's what we do, but it's sad to me that she puts out such a vulnerable and sincere piece of art and the reaction was always going to be 'haha mid Floppell Groan amiright' :enigma:

It most definitely go up on Monday. The question is if it will out peak its debut (which is what she needs for this to be a sustainable hit). Otherwise we’ll be looking at a strong top 5 debut and possibly end up falling out of the top 10 in a few weeks.

I dont get the obsession with numbers and flopping in music.

Stop moving the goalpost. You literally said it was going to have a similar trajectory to The Giver and “free fall down the charts” in the post that was being replied to. Nothing about a “sustainable hit.”

And, in what world is a #5 debut with several weeks in the top 10 anything other than a “hit”? Why do we need to keep creating new ridiculous categories to downplay songs that are very clearly and obviously just hits?

Hmm well… Disease had a 34% drop so, idk. Abracadabra and DWAS had nothing of the sort and became hits so

Either way this is a great song so I will be enjoying and rooting for it’s success 😌
