If she wasn't a trumpie, why would she have registered as a republican in the middle of last summer?

But its also a means of getting the right ballot paper to a voter in a polling station that may cover multiple seats.

I mean, the government already has all the data to achieve that without the need of a person actively registering...

I mean electoral registration absolutely should be done automatically.

But no matter how its done there needs to be a system that matches the voter to a constituency.

It's a way of controlling who or 'what kinds of people' get to vote. They make it harder to register in certain states and in certain groups of people to sway elections because... then certain states or groups of people aren't allowed to vote. The entire system there is built on corruption. We shouldn't be surprised by anything anymore :bear:

Its absolutely used to enforce restrictions.

It's also also used to kick voters off registration rolls just before an election with zero notice.

It's why people, especially in red states, are encouraged to continue checking if they're registered to vote. I've had to reregister before after being randomly booted despite voting in nearly every election (federal, state, and local) since 2016.

Then when you show up to the polls you're told your registration isn't valid and you can't vote.

You can imagine what type of voters are frequently affected by this.

You're stinky

It's always been public though

It’s the leaked address for me…

Like obviously I condemn Sydney for being a republican in 2024 but I’m over that - she wasn’t a fave or anything

Yeah, no shít she’s a closeted MAGAT. You’d have to be blind to not see it lol

I figured her face looking like it was rubbed against concrete as a kid gave that away.

From my understanding you can be a registered republican and still vote democrat, and vice versa.

I believe she voted republican though :laughga:

Yes you can. But you're not gonna register to vote Republican 5 months before the election to not vote Republican

Yes, and it’s quite obvious if she registered as a Republican that she was voting for Trump and other Republicans.

It's not necessarily true that it was the first time she registered. It's just the most recent she updated it. Which is kinda worse overall lol.

I don't think I've ever watched something she's in, don't find her interesting.

Off topic: it's so werid that you people have to register to vote, the concept of registering for a right is just...

I get what you mean and the US certainly does have practices that are anti-voting and make it harder for poorer people and minorities to vote.

I don't think registering in itself is bad as long as it is made easy and accessible and free for everyone. The reason is, the US is huge. You have to register where you are going to vote because if you are a Texan you can't just decide to vote in Oklahoma's elections, or if you're in one county in Texas, you can't just decide on the day to go vote in another county's election because you think their county election is more important--you have to vote where you live because the ballot will be different. Now when it comes to the presidential election, I'd support theoretically anyone voting anywhere (and they CAN do absentee or mail in in some states, although republicans are trying to get rid of that), but in the US states are responsible for their own elections, including the election of the president. So it would just be logistically messy. I'm not saying there is not a better way, just trying to explain.

If she was smart she would just ignore all of this and wait for it to blow over.

If she tries to buck the press and go full actress of the fascists, she’s going to flop in Hollywood. Those fools aren’t watching Euphoria or her boxing movie. She doesn’t have the personality to be a movie star either or be a solo draw. She has the charisma of a Victorias Secret mannequin

Amidst the controversy of recent American Eagle ad that she starred in, people been curious if she is actually MAGA leaning

And well, someone looked her up and found it

This is public record that people can look up, so not constituted as doxxing. While whom you vote for is not public, the information if you are registered to a certain political party might (vary by state)

As much as I hate Republicans and everything they represent... this is not the way...

I wouldnt like them semi-doxxing a left leaning celebrity (or anyone) and sharing it among them, putting said person at risk, so Im not gonna be ok with doing this to them.

If something happens to her because of this, all we are going to get, is give republicans more ammo about the "crazy left", and how 1 woman was attacked/robbed/whatever just because of an ad for jeans...

Im sorry but as long as the left keeps falling for these kind of traps and distractions, the right is going to keep winning, this is not the way... I know we are all tired of this, I know we are all tired of being the "better people", but we need to be smart, and we havent been, at all...

I could eat a slice of your zombie pie…
