What's the tea on that?? I'm sure it's blown out of proportion.

Sounds like she was talking/joking about her paleness.

Between songs, the Happier Than Ever singer said to the crowd: ‘Obviously, I am not from here, but it’s really cool to come somewhere and everybody looks exactly like you, and you’re all just as pasty as me.’

Yap, blown out of proportion, linking these remarks to eugenics is ridiculous imo.

And billie was always outspoken in support of minorities, if even she isn't safe we are cooked.  :gum:

Intentions matter. Billie was clearly just making a joke about how pale she is.

AE is clearly using a dog whistle to generate free publicity.

You're stinky

Well, of course this was bound to happen. Even if the brand was only looking for the controversy with that "play on words", it ultimately serves as a good excuse for racists to stand up and be counted. Little by little they are gaining ground.

it must be nice to play ignorant and pretend this ad is harmless and just blame the "looney lefties" for overreacting, can you sit up straight without a spine though?

Honestly, it sounds more like viral bait than an actual evil agenda... and everyone fell for it.. this brand is going to be talked about like crazy for the next few weeks at least, which will automatically make their sales soar...

Subtle enough so they can deny it and brush it off as a play on words, but stinky enough to cause an internet uproar...

Watch them silence the controversy in a few weeks with a new ad with a black person with black jeans saying "my jeans are black", after they cashed in on all the discussions they caused...

Brands know that nowadays if you want people to talk about you, triggering a woke Vs anti-woke duel is a sure way to do it

Yeah, that ad give those pos not only a symbol but also a slogan ("I love my jeans") they can chant without consequences.

I think that no consequences ship has sailed long ago since trump got the presidency.

Or when elon bought twitter and started doing nazi gestures and allowing everything on the platform.

My point is, this has been happening for a long time, people should focus on the actual people that allow and encourage this behavior.

Companies are just taking advantage of American apathy atp, and they can farm the outrage and even grow amongst the chaos, this will keep happening unless trump is removed from office.

In May "AE" withdrew its annual outlook, citing unpredictable consumer spending, then reported a loss of $85 million and 3% decline in comparable sales in its fiscal first quarter ending May 3.

They are just doing business and y'all are helping them.
