Can we talk about "The Fame"?

It's a perfect debut album to get famous in 2008 - you want a ballad? You got that. You want an RnB with a rap feature? You got that. You want bubblegum? Got you covered. Dance pop? check.

No matter where the market went, she could seize it and capitalize on it.

The best debut album of all time across all genres and artists.

Timeless and unique.

Kierzenbaum and F*sari have nothing to do with Summerboy but you’re right

I wish Photograph was on The Fame too, it’s the perfect bridge between both Gagas

Oh and Freakshow too!

You’re right about Fusari, but Kierzenbaum did the instrumentation and arrangement for Summerboy

I actually think the magic of The Fame is its eclectic sound - and I think it perfectly reflects what we’ve got now on MAYHEM. Also, HBDUWM says hello - all that bubblegum is still around today.

Yeah this is one of my least favorite albums from her for a reason.

All the singles are stacked at the beginning, then there's a collection of very meh songs that shouldn't have made the cut, then some cute old songs at the end that are a bit better but don't belong there.

I don’t get it, the credits literally say:

Arrangement by Martin Kierszenbaum

Arranged by Brian Anthony Kierulf and Joshua Michael Schwartz

agreed, i feel like the album hasn't aged very well and while songs like Paparazzi and Poker Face are iconic for obvious reasons, I really find Just Dance extremely boring now when compared to everything she's released since and I almost never feel a desire or need to relisten to the non-singles from this album (except Summerboy). Starstruck is fighting hard for "worst song of her career" with Christmas Tree and Jewels and Drugs (seriously, almost all her Space Cowboy songs were really awful?). I don't listen to the non-singles from TFM as often as I should but when I do honestly they sound way better than 90% of what's on TF imo!

This! I have a hard time getting through that song, it's so boring. At least Christmas Tree is fun to listen to. Starstruck just doesn't end soon enough.

It probably sounded so futuristic and cool back in 08 but now it's so jarring I can't listen to it.

OP: I agree, and as many other have said, I think it's due to how the album was conceived over such a long period, with so many producers. Also, she would have been 19/20 years old when she began, and I'm sure she sorta changed her sound/image thousands of time until the album's release, so it ends up feeling like a compilation of sorts.

The album starts off amazing, then goes very meh, then gets good again at the end.

It's definitely a song of its time. I might be misremembering but I believe it was one of her first non-single songs to hit Gold certification and one of her highest selling non-singles (during the itunes era). It was a popular back in 2008/2009

The fame is timeless and unique, i reallyyyyy feel sorry for people who don't like it lol Especially unique tracks like starstruck.... That shows a level of basic taste that's honestly off putting lol

But y'all are allowed to have your wrong opinions.
