Starmie25 18,572
From my understanding this was one of the first clips to gain attention on tiktok. It was from the 2022 Chromatica Ball which consists of a girl saying "C'mon the show is over" and the guy replying with "No, she hasn't sung Judas yet" Then slowly it was being used at other pop shows and morphed into "I hope she plays INSERT SONG" etc "UMM this is a soccer game etc etc" Thawts Edited July 23 by Starmie25
NickiMinajStan 6,890
Those are two different trends, I don't think one evolved into the other. The "I hope she sings/plays" one, originated from Chappell fans I think. Or Sabrina, one of those two. HEART OF EVER-FROST 2

monstertoronto 10,116
Literally every musical act that has ever performed a concert has had fans attend that were hoping to hear specific songs they love. It’s just human nature to want to hear your faves. Nobody “invented” that. And it’s also long been a standard that music acts would play their biggest hits at the end, so there’s also been an expectation that a show isn’t over until certain hits are played. Monsters def did not invent that, and certainly not starting as recently as TCB. Edited July 23 by monstertoronto

skaxboy 5,436
Nope. Back in the 90’s at the end of the live Barney concerts, the children’s would refuse to leave and throw their juice boxes because Baby Bop hadn’t played her iconic “Baby Bop Hop.”
elsamars 371
That is definitely the case as monsters literally invented going to concerts and listening to music.
