But that also adds to the increased cost as well. They have to store all that stuff between shows and legs.

The label probably doesn't see much of a return in those countries in general. Why bother doing a tour for 2 years, actually touring the world, when the artist could be making money back home? Gaga is in a 360, so her not being on tour isn't necessarily a loss. What's the return on investment having her in South America for a month, only to impact future sales/streams a negligible amount when she could shoot half a movie in that same time? She'd be less stressed and she's still being exposed to international markets once the film releases.

Just like the music industry killed music videos, they're killing tours slowly. They don't need to put an artist on stage to get them in front of new people anymore.

Yea exactly, if they dont see its profitable enough, they wont do it. And like I said, I dont blame Gaga as I dont think its entirely her decision, maybe she is not even part of that decision, but this is 100% a money issue, not a health one like the user above implied.

Gaga might be here for the music, but the label is with her for the bling, its that simple.

I could be a pie for your zombie bite....

I'm not sure that she is too worried about the cost, but maybe thats me reaching. I think she has a place where the opera house for stadiums (or the additional pieces of the set) is being stored.

I agree that the music industry is killing tours/ruining them- but I think Gaga WANTS to be on a stage performing (what musician doesn't?), and so if she needs to take her time touring for her health then thats what she will do.

I mean I definitely see her only returning to Mexico and Brazil in the future :laughga: Argentina could happen but anywhere else is not worth doing in their minds.

In all fairness - she covered Singapore, Brazil, and Mexico too after counting the outdoor shows

I understand people's frustration from countries she doesn't visit, but come on guys... Do you want her to break her second hip? She's only one woman, let's appreciate the fact she's still touring at all.

She could easily do stadiums with less dates in more countries. The whole Europe deserved. Welp... :madge:

The cost of traveling to another country is insane for a concert. :alsemanche:

I really dont think that getting tired/overworking herself has that much to do with it tbh, Elton John's farewell tour had.. 330 dates, yes, 330.

I dont even blame her before anyone says I am, but it honestly sounds more like a money thing were the label or whoever is in charge, doesnt see certain areas as profitable enough for all the logistics a show this size needs. Noone can know for sure, but one thing is for certain, Gaga's tours are always on the lower end of amount of dates added.

And I mean, Elton's tour lasted through 5 years, Coldplay's current tour is on its 4th year, if Gaga/her label wanted, they could extend it with enough breaks so its not that demanding for her or anyone's health, theres no need to rush things and visit the whole world in a couple months.

She could easily do stadiums in every country in Europe, which would generate 10M per show...

The Weeknd's After Hours Til Dawn Tour and Ed Sheeran's Mathematics Tour have also been going on since 2022 and Ed has already announced his next tour, while still finishing his current one. Both of them, also Coldplay, had months in between shows some time. The Weeknd finished his first American Leg and announced the next shows right after. He had 5 shows in all of 2024.

So in conclusion I think it would be possible for Gaga to stretch the tour and still look out for her health.

And she could also do the same as the tours mentioned above (and add Beyonce to this list) by playing the same stadium for several nights. This way she could reach fans in many countries and touring would be a bit less stressful.

But as some also mentioned, there wouldn't be too much "benefit" for her touring South America when there would be more lucurative options. Elton's Farewell Tour played 330 shows and he never reached Latin America or Asia...

I would so love to attend the meetings where such tours are planned, if only as a fly on the wall, but I would finally know what the thoughts are to plan a tour a specific way

In all fairness Elton does not dance for 2 and a half hours, nor does Coldplay and he’s had substantial rest time between legs hence the length of the tour. Gaga has literally got fibro that could come back at literally any given time hence why she now wears mostly flats the whole show (except for one section) and takes the time to rest between sets, has a smaller stage to navigate and less challenging costumes. Even Beyoncé doesn’t do a real world tour or dances her full show or anything anymore.

it’s Gaga’s choice to sustain her health and to still have time to see her family. We forget she spent almost the entirety of 2009-2012 on the road whether it was world tours, promotional tours and more.

Well Elton is Elton, Gaga is Gaga. Two different people. Good for him if he can and wants to do that.

A stadium show is a vastly different experience than an arena one. Some artists just want to fill the biggest venues, others want the audience to have the best possible experience...

Also, I'm amazed at the amount of doctors and managers in this thread who clearly know more about what's best for Gaga than her actual team. Honestly I hope Bobby spots this thread and starts taking notes. Who cares if she's had two world tours cut short for health reasons in the past, let's go perform at everyone's doorstep and make moneeeey :woohoo:

You contradicted the whole point: less (or same amount of) dates with bigger venues and more countries = more money with less health concerns...

I think she is worried about the cost though. Between her and Live Nation, then the label, then Bobby, then her team, the money probably doesn't stretch all that far if she takes a bunch of downtime between legs. I think she would eat some of that cost to satisfy herself and her fans, but she's doing all that work and exposing her body to risk for what?

I would not be surprised to find out she didn't wanna do stadiums for all her shows simply because of how much she struggled in the heat during TCB. I remember girl was using a oxygen mask quite a bit during the show, and in some parts I couldn't help but feel bad for her. I don't blame her at all, I'm taking a break from mowing my lawn in 90 degree Fahrenheit heat to read GGD and I already feel like I might die after "light exercise" for the past hour.

Sneaky Oliver

You guys are like oh do you want her to break her hip again? but if she announced a LATAM+Australia tour and skipped the US or Europe, you would be FUMING and unstanning

We know some countries are more profitable than others but for such a huge legacy artist like Gaga, that shouldn’t matter that much, as long as there’s no money loss involved, she/her team should bring the tour for as many people as possible, if she does like a few dates in Brazil and Mexico, I’m sure people from other countries will show up as they did for the Copacabana concert, she doesn’t need to tour every single country or city

I'm not totally sure she's expressed it before, but it is my understanding that she's not the biggest fan of stadiums. I'm not surprised she chose arenas this time, and I wish her own fans would respect that decision.
